  • Equipment for Students to play & Compete in Sports

    Funded Sep 11, 2024

You have really changed the lives of many of the students your donation has impacted. When we started the year with a softball team, it was challenging at first because we did not have enough supplies and our students did not have the means to purchase their own. But we continued with what we had and eventually when this project was funded, we were fully equipped and ready to play! And boy did these students play their hearts out.

Many of these students have never played softball before. But they took on every opportunity to grow and learn. They improved after every practice and game. They began to have a love for the game. What made this more rewarding for them was their sense of teamwork and encouraging and cheering each other on. They learned to have good sportsmanship and they left every game with a positive attitude. They also learned to be more responsible in class as well. They understood they were representing our school and therefore their characters and performance in class were essential parts of being on the team.

These sports have been nothing but valuable for our students and school. It has brought so much enthusiasm and joy to our students and community. We could not do this alone. Your generosity and support of education is what allows us to continue this positive progress within our students. We cannot thank you enough for your donation and we hope to continue to make you all proud of us...”

  • Providing more flexible seating options.

    Funded Nov 4, 2022

We are so thankful for your generosity! Flexible seating has been implemented in my classroom for so many years now and it has been so successful! It provides my students with various places to sit in the classroom. When they are writing, working on math, or just reading, they like to sit in various places in the classroom that they are comfortable with. The stools are perfect because they fit anywhere in the classroom and are light enough to carry.

I have seen so much improvement in their ability to stay focused, gain the motivation to work and learn and their confidence has grown so much! They thrive so much with the flexibility of our classroom. This flexibility transitions into their daily lives because it gives them the ability to adjust to various things. They are evolving and growing socially as well because they are sitting next to different students constantly. This forges new connections and helps them learn to solve conflicts.

We have been using the same stools and they have unfortunately been breaking. So it was so important that they be replaced with stronger ones that last even longer. When the chairs arrived, my students screamed for joy! They loved all the different colors and wanted to use them immediately. You have really help make our classroom an even more enjoyable place to learn and grow. We can't thank you enough for your donation and support of education.”

  • Document Camera To Help Support Online Learning

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

It is with an abundance of gratitude that we would like to thank you all for the donations you have given to our classroom zoom class. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the document camera previously ordered. It was no longer available and our district thankfully was able to provide us with one eventually. So instead we use your donations to get very needed math supplies, more books to read aloud to the whole class and also more stock paper to make more art and crafts.

The students have been learning about tens and ones and it was becoming difficult to teach and for the students to u fees tans without having actual manipulative sin front of them. Your donation afford us to provide each student with tens and ones to use in their homes while we are learning math online. Having these hands on tools will really help my students grasp the concepts better.

These first greater love to read and especially for me to read aloud to them. We have been excited and engaged about chapter books. So the books we purchased are the next chapter books in a few series we have already started reading. They are so happy to continue these serious in our zoom class. Mia Mayhem is their favorite. It is so great to bring a female heroine of color into our daily curriculum. It brings forth diversity and inclusion and exposure to more.

Lastly, we just love to do art! We have been using so much card-stock to create drawings and painting. We follow online tutorials of how to draw everything from characters to animals. The students especially love using watercolors. The card stock is perfect to use with watercolors because it holds the water well. We continue to creat art twice a week. The students just love it!

We can't thank you enough for all your help in making out zoom classes more enjoyable and exciting for my students.”

  • We Love ART!

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

We have been so busy being creative and getting our hands dirty from all the art we have been doing in class. My class was so excited to see all the boxes of art supplies. They wanted to use them right away. They helped me unpack and all I can hear is "ooohhs and awwws" and their faces were full of big smiles. We began by making room to put them all somewhere. It is important that the supplies are well organized and easy for students to access.

Since receiving our amazing art supplies, we have created so many fabulous art projects that have be intertwined with what we have been learning. We have been learning about being thankful and appreciating the important people in our lives. My students were able to create thanksgiving table mats that showed who they were thankful for. They were able to use the card stock, glue and twist crayons to create beautiful mats that we were able to laminate with the lamination sheets. For the past holiday season, we were also able to create Christmas and winter crafts that have been displayed throughout our classroom and halls. The laminator sheets was also so great to use to preserve handmade ornaments that the students made for their families for years to come.

We have continued to use all the materials in so many wonderful ways. We have just made more art projects for Black History Month. These have been displayed for our annual Black History Celebration that parents and the community will be seeing. The card stock is so vibrant and striking which gives the student's artwork pops of color. We will continue to create more art projects as the year progresses. We plan to use the cricut material to make iron on school shirts for the students. We hope to wear them towards the end of the year. Thank you so much for your support and contribution to our school and education. You rock!”

  • Art Creations Everywhere!

    Funded Sep 24, 2019

We are so grateful for your generous donation to our classroom. We immediately began creating art work with the materials we received. My kinders are beginning to explore books and authors. They love reading and creating art. Therefore, we have combined both in our curriculum.

Our school librarian read, "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds to my students during library time. They were so interested and curious about the book and the message behind it. The message was to be brave about expressing themselves. They learned to not give up and keep creating. We incorporated a fun art activity after. They created their own dots using watercolors. The students were so focused and determined.

We have been enjoying so many of Mo Willems books as well. Our favorite is "Pigeon finds a hot dog". They laugh every time anyone reads these books to them. The illustrations in the books are fun and simple. I prepared an art activity for my students to create their own pigeon. I put the black Indian Ink inside the bingo dabbers and lead a directed drawing of the pigeon. Then they use crayons to design the backgrounds and watercolors to paint everything. They really enjoyed this activity.

We hope to continue to create more art in our classroom. It has given my students confidence in knowing that they are all creative in their own ways. They are getting exposed to various art mediums. I love that art can be intertwined with all subjects.

They love having their worked displayed and are always looking forward to the next art project.

We thank you for your support!”

  • Improving the Classroom Environment with Flexible Seating

    Funded May 16, 2019

My students were cheering and screaming when they saw the new flexible seating material! Having a variety of seating in the classroom allows for students to be flexible and relaxed. It also helps the students feel comfortable and ready to learn.

Flexible seating has given my students choices of where they would like to work. I have noticed that behavior problems have been reduced and students are more kind to one another. They are very willing to share and not fight about the equipment either. It has been such a success!

We want to continue flexible seating for years to come. We want to continue to use this kind of seating to give students the flexibility to work in ways that make them more confident and successful. Our goal is to continue to seek various options for flexible seating that will creative a space of comfort and community within our classroom. We thank you for supporting our classroom. • Organized Supplies Brings More Success in the Classroom & Beyond!

    Funded May 21, 2019

The students were so excited to see the material we received. They saw so many clear bins that were immediately used to store their station materials. Since the bins were all see through, it made it easier for students to quickly find what they were looking for. It cuts down time for searching and more time for learning.

Every day, the students are engaged in various Reading and Math stations. In order for things to run smoothly during this time, materials need to be organized and easily accessible. The bins are used frequently throughout the day, so we love how durable the material of the bins are. The type of materials inside these bins include puzzles, play dough, blocks and legos. We also used the smaller bins for supplies that are useful in class. These supplies include colored twisted crayon, glue sticks and scissors. Students can easily seek these materials when needed.

When the classroom is organized, so are the students. They know exactly where materials are and where to return them. We are more efficient in the classroom and have more time for learning fun things. We hope showing the importance of being organized in Kindergarten, will help these students also become organized at home and in their daily lives. Thank you so much for contributing to the progress of these students. We are grateful for your help!”

My students were so excited when I opened the boxes. They were cheering and screaming! We were planning to work on writing after. Once it was time for them to start working independently on their stories, they immediately grabbed one of the new flexible seating options we just unpacked and went straight to work. • Making Math & Science Fun through STEM Activities!

    Funded Mar 5, 2018

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities have brought so much excitement to our Kindergarten Class! The students look forward to it daily. It is so important to incorporate these types of activities into the our curriculum. They are able to use these STEM activities during their station time as well during science time. Since we have an assortment of activities, the students are able to choose which ones they want to work with.

These STEM activities allow the students to construct creatively. They can build different projects in various ways. It has definitely strengthen their learning endurance, patience and self-perseverance. We were also able to gain a BeeBot through the funding of this project. The students have had prior experience with the BeeBot during their weekly coding classes. Having our own classroom Beebot has brought so much more interest in coding and programming. The students are more eager to work with the BeeBot because it is very engaging and hands on. Coding skills are essential for helping students learn to problem solve and as well as increase their math skills.

The biggest benefit from these STEM activities is the improvement of the students social skills. Students are learning to work together better as a team. They are learning to try new things and overcome obstacles. Their communication skills have evolved as well because they have learned to voice their concerns and opinions in more positive and constructive ways with their peers. Their confidence have grown and leaders have emerged. It's astounding how much they have grown and improved because of these STEM activities.

We are so grateful for your contribution and commitment to improving education for all students. You are one of the factors to the success of these students. Thank you for continuing to support schools and the future of education.”

  • Creating an Inviting and Comfortable Reading Area...

    Funded Sep 17, 2017

My students absolutely love the revamped reading area. They were so excited to receive the new carpet, bean bags and books. It has created a fun and cozy area for them to read. The students use the area at least twice a day to read books during our reading time or after they are finished completing their assignments. It's so exciting when they would rather go to the reading area instead of playing freely. The new reading area has really increased their love for reading. It has made them more enthusiastic and eager to read. They look forward to getting new books and reading them in the area. As they continue learning to read more, the students library will continue to grow with new books and hopefully a bigger area for them to read. We just want to continue their love for reading and give them more opportunities to read. We thank you for your donations!”

Since most of my students learn English as a second language, it is essential to provide opportunities for them to listen to the language in various ways. My classroom is full of engaging activities that get the students excited about learning. I want to expand these engaging activities by providing a consistent listening station. Our class will have our own iPad available for them to listen to various types of audio books. The best part is that it will be their teacher reading these books to them!!! I use a recording app to record me reading. The students love it and look forward to the listening station. I also like the conveniency of being able to record any book I find that pertains to our lessons. Any book can be turned into an audio book for free!
