  • Snacktivities Galore!

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

My students have been supercharged with the snacks and supplies in this project. Because of them, we've been able to stop meltdowns in their tracks! On occasion, students come in late and weren't able to get breakfast. Not a problem when you've got a drawer full of options to hold them over until lunch!

Further, we've been able to cash in points (earned for positive choices) for treats we love. These have offered us a little extra goodness in our day.

Now we're off to our next project - exploring a world of facing challenges and inventing new things with engaging books.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lee

  • Good Morning: A Warmth Project

    Funded Jul 30, 2024

At meet the teacher night, students came in and flocked to our carpet area. They told me repeatedly how it seemed so cozy.

Once school started, they began to beg to do work on the carpet, sit there to read, and were so excited about our morning meetings.

The rug gave us a space to talk, learn, listen, and get to know each other.

Frequently, students ask for a snack, and for a few weeks I was able to give them without worry because I had our stock from this project.

Additionally, our binders gave us a space to track things like our goals, progress, and feelings.

Students are so excited to meet on the carpet each day and this will continue to be a space for growth throughout the year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lee

  • End of Year Engagement!

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

My students were so excited about the end-of-year room transformation! Creating an underwater/beach classroom was so fun.

We studied different animals, and enjoyed snacks related to the ocean using the supplies and snacks sent. We read books about the ocean, and my newcomers were able to follow along perfectly with the bilingual books.

The decorations really made it feel like a party! We were able to celebrate the theme with snacks like Goldfish and reward focusing students with pencils, erasers, and jolly ranchers! This end-of-the-year event has been so fun.”

  • Collaborative Reading

    Funded Jan 23, 2024

This book has been a great community and love-of-reading builder for my class. We started it in January, but due to snow days, holidays, breaks, and testing, are now finishing it post-spring break. They have asked about it constantly - when will we finish it? Can we read another chapter?

Our first day back from break, they were so thrilled to read through it and draw what they were visualizing. We are able to review so many skills organically - what is characterization, and how is it happening here? What is the setting? What affixes do you see?

The love of reading has been re-sparked for many of them, and we are big Clements fans here!”

  • Healthy Brain Fuel

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

This project worked wonders for helping us to focus. The students were able to spend a few minutes each day between subjects having a snack, hanging out, and taking a quick break. This strengthened their bonds, building community, but also allowed a safe space for students who are hungry to grab a snack free of any judgment or concern. It also gave a little 'brain break' before we moved on to the next task. These full bodies propelled them further for our learning, and allowed them to absorb more information.

    Thank you so much.”

  • Get Ready to Rumble (& Read)

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

My students have been able to grow their love of reading in our room this year. I have had parents reach out about where to purchase more books from a series because students are going home so chatty about what they've read!

Independent reading time is one of our favorites. Our class loves to choose a spot around the room and read with a partner. They even keep up with who is reading a book when they finish it, because their excitement sparks the next person.

I am so grateful to give them so many new and exciting books to reignite the reading spark.”

  • Back to School Basics

    Funded Jul 26, 2023

Many of the provided supplies have helped students gain more independence, such as the accessible tape dispensers and extra pencils.

Students are so excited to work towards earning stickers to decorate their folders.

Index cards, cards, and envelopes have increased our possible activities, turning simple activities into movement opportunities.

Allergy season kicked in real quick, and having the extra Kleenex on hand was so helpful for keeping us safe from germs!

Dry erase boards have been a hit for engagement and working out math problems.

We are so grateful for these supplies!”

  • Let's Talk About Self-Expression!

    Funded Jul 9, 2023

The resources in this project have made leaps and bounds in our room!

Students have loved the calming materials - they were great for the stress of a new year and many at-home scenarios. The calm strips are a great quiet fidget.

Students are so excited to be celebrated at their birthday with the extra goodies.

Timers have helped them have extra independence with using the calm corner, bathroom, or other trips they have needed to make.

I have loved seeing students' writing application grow as they choose to write letters and cards for loved ones!

We are getting excited for round 2 of using the poster board to show our learning.

I am so grateful for the impact these resources have had!”

  • Long Live Learning!

    Funded May 18, 2023

The resources for this project have helped immensely in getting us into routines for back to school. We used The Day You Begin on the first week, and students loved how they related to the story.

We do independent reading time a few days a week, and students love to find the books we've read-aloud and read them again. A few of the books we haven't read together have entered our book display, and students love to sign up to read it next! The multilingual resources have created more inclusivity in our reading time.

My students have especially loved the two games as we had indoor recess nearly the first two weeks of school! The heat has been intense and makes us stay inside, but these STEM activities have let them use their time wisely by continuing building relationships between classmates as well as increasing skills during recess!

I am so grateful for these contributions to our room.”
