This project will help my students activate a part of their brains only stimulated by interacting with STEM manipulatives. Using the tools in my project help students grow their brainpower. They create critical connections that result in high functioning students. When they use Legos to build the Titanic or Magna tiles to build a social scene they are developing their mathematical and scientific thinking. Learning through the use of STEM manipulatives improves and develops cognitive thinking. This cognitive thinking improves learning in all other subject areas. Students use these tools to express themselves when they can not with words! We use these tools in our everyday learning during morning work, math, and indoor recess! These tools can help with coping skills as well. They can be brought home to reduce stress, anxiety and initiate play!
