Out of Ink!
Funded Dec 14, 2019My students were very excited when boxes arrived to my classroom. Once I opened them they were eager to help me set up the new material. Students were amazed as I was able to instantly print photographs. Students were eager to wait and watch material being printed.
The ink for my classroom printer has allowed my students to print work they do on the computer. It has allowed me to print out newsletters and others material for my students families. The photo paper and ink has allowed me to capture special moments and print the images immediately. We have printed pictures to provided a special person with the gift of a photo on Valentines day. We have used pictures to capture special moments such as birthdays and other school wide celebrations. We have also used photos to capture our shadows and to discuss how the form.
I am very thankful to my donors for their generous support. Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom.”

Ink Levels Low
Funded Apr 22, 2018My students were very excited to receive a package in the mail. I explained that it was ink for our classroom printers. The students knew what that meant. We could print pictures instantly. The pictures we print are used to capture student learning and special moments.
At such a young age having technology in classroom such as a printer allows students to familiarize themselves with it. They are taught how to operate the technology and how to use it for educational purposes.
I have to mention that the parents continue to be pleased to receive photos of their children and are always extremely thankful and impressed. Thank you for supporting my classroom and students. I am grateful to be the recipient of such gratitude.”

Center-Based Learning
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for including me in the best school day ever. Your donation has provided my classroom with additional learning material for my students to use during their center time. The students were excited to see the new material and very eager to open the boxes and begin exploring.
I previewed the new material during our morning meeting and the students couldn't wait to go to center time. I added the water blocks to the sensory center and the students were eager to build with blocks on water. They created awesome structures and were eager to share their creations. In my science center I placed the animal homes matching tiles and the kids had a lot of laughs matching animals with different habitats. I added the architecture set to the block center and the students loved designing their own houses.
One student said " thank you for getting those for us." The children really appreciate receiving new material. As I close out the school year I am eager to use the material next year and connect them to our learning units. I am humbled by your generosity and support. Thank you for sharing my vision.”

Funded Nov 22, 2017Thank you for supporting my vision to create a warm, welcoming and organized classroom environment. I frequently use backing paper as a backdrop to display student work. I use the clear pockets as a center time rotation system. Students place their picture cards inside the pockets. Putting their pictures inside the clear pockets and removing them also helps with gross motors skills.
The students were excited to see new material. We recently used the backing paper as a back drop to our city. It is small details that make a difference and make it more exciting for students.
I am humbled that you choose my project to contribute to. Thank you for adding to classroom and supporting my students.”

Funded Nov 28, 2017In my classroom we have laptops and a Promethean board. The students know how to navigate educational websites using the laptops. They use the promethean board's touch technology during interactive lessons. We also have good old fashion play in my classroom which we capture using a digital camera.
My students were excited to see what was in the box. They didn't get it at first but once they saw the photo printer in action they were amazed. We had a celebration where I captured the students completing an activity with their parents. I printed the photos and displayed them. One parent saw the display and said, " wow look at that...pictures already." The moments I capture and print for the students are memories that will last a life time. I replenished the ink in the printer and was able to print pictures of their houses for a lesson. Needless to say they were amazed.
Thank you for supporting my classroom and seeing the value of technology in classroom. Thank you for sharing my vision of capturing moments for students and providing a way to allow those memories to become keepsakes. I am humbled by your generosity. Thank you again.”

Funded Nov 21, 2017Thank you for supporting my classroom and my vision of creating a warm and welcoming classroom environment and for seeing the purpose of using interactive organizational charts for student birthday's and classroom jobs. Thank you for supporting our count down to the 100th day of school.
The students are always excited when boxes arrive to our classroom. Upon opening one student said "look it's Pete the Cat" and another said, "wow." My students even loved the packaging material. They love to pop the bubble wrap.
Prior to receiving the donation we used the Promethean board to count to the 100th Day of School. Now we are using the Pete the Cat chart adding buttons as the days pass. We are using the other material to display student birthdays and to organize classroom jobs. Though the children used previous charts they were excited to see the classroom decor. It's like getting a new car.
It is a humbling and rewarding experience to receive a donation. I know that there are many classrooms that need resources. Again thank you so much.”

Funded May 3, 2017Thank You! The children were very excited when they saw the new movement equipment. They were eager to use the material right away. We started with alphabet bowling and the children absolutely loved it. They set up the letters in their name and enjoyed knocking them down. Then we used the ring toss, they were ecstatic. In the counting activity box there was musical feet and children were fascinated by the "new" game. They were already familiar with musical chairs. We frequently use the poly dots for our performances and various movement activities. The children loved exploring the activities mats.
Shortly after receiving the gym equipment our gymnasium was temporally closed. It was great to have material that could be used in the classroom. The children were disappointed that they could not use the gym but their feelings soon changed once they realized that all of our new material could be used in the classroom.
I sincerely appreciate your generosity. The benefits of the resources extend beyond my current class. I will continue to use this equipment with my future classes. Thank you for supporting my vision of moving and learning.”

Funded Apr 21, 2017My class was very excited to see two new classroom additions. They were eager to know what they were. Once I set them up we got to use them right away. My class was working on creating list poems. Each student was able to dictate their list poem and I was able to print it out right then and there. The children were amazed. This might have been there first experience seeing how a printer works. I was also able to quickly display their work.
In Pre-k we use Unit of Study. We were working on our Baby Unit and having a printer and lamination machine allowed me to print wonderful pictures for the children. I was also able to laminate and create activities for them such as sequencing the life cycle of a chicken. I took the time and showed the children how the lamination machine works and they all were amazed. They huddled around as I passed pages through. This was most likely their first experience with a lamination machine.
Having this technology in my classroom has added to my students learning. They are able to better understand material because I am able to almost instantly add a picture reference. This alone adds to a child's literacy development.
This technology has had such a positive impact on my classroom. Your support and generosity has extended far beyond my classroom. I believe in paying it forward and I allow fellow teachers to share the technology. Thank you for supporting my vision and teaching practices to help develop the minds of our youngest learners.”

Funded Dec 23, 2016The students were overjoyed when they saw the puzzles. I showed the students the puzzles during our morning meeting and gave them each one to explore. The students worked on their puzzle in delight.... they each got one which came as a great surprise. I discussed with the students how to treat the puzzles and explained that we received them as a donation. I placed the puzzles in our table toy/manipulative center, not one of the most popular centers. Since the addition of the puzzles the children are visiting the center more frequently.
The puzzles relate to some recent content that we covered. We are currently working on the unit Where We Live in which we read the story of the 3 Little Pigs. The kids love that there is a 3 Little Pig Puzzle.
Moving forward, I intend to encourage the students to use the puzzles during center time as a means to increase their motor skills, as a topic for discussion and as a platform to use expanded vocabulary. Using puzzles is a great way for students to participate in storytelling. The puzzles have already captured their attention and it has only been a few days.
I am inspired by your generosity and support. On behalf of my current and future students who will benefit from your donation, I Thank you.”

Ms. Groves
