Mindfulness and Yoga
Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you for supporting my classroom and allowing me to receive training from Yo Re Mi to learn how to effectively incorporate Yoga, mindfulness and music in my classroom.
The four day training provided me with the opportunity to participate in a foundational yoga class, and classes for children. I also participated in a story book yoga class and a music and jam session. I was taught ways to incorporate props and instrument while teaching yoga.
During the the training I received a wealth of information about the building blocks of Yoga and activities to do with my class.
I am humbled by your support and I am excited to put my training into practice.”

Funded Sep 7, 2022Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom. Thank you for sharing my vision to provide a warm and welcoming environment where young children feel comfortable to share their feelings and express their emotions.
My students were excited to receive the new material for our cozy corner. They immediately wanted to try all the material and have continued to use it regularly. They absolutely loved the wands. The material has supported my students to self-regulate.
I am humbled by your geneorsity and support.”

Funded Feb 14, 2022My students were thrilled when we received the new materials. They were especially excited about the trampolines. I received such positive feedback from my students families because my students could not stop talking about them when they got home. We have been using them daily. I have one student that particularly loves the breathing board and uses it regularly. I am excited to introduce my students to the fishing set we will use during our next unit on water. The fine motor activity was a great addition and students have been using it regularly. Thank you for supporting my classroom and students. I am always humbled by support of my vision to create a fun and inviting learning environment.”

Safe and Cozy
Funded Nov 15, 2021Thank you for the cushions. Each child is able to have their own cushion. My students love their cushion. They use it during whole group activities to sit on the floor, they use it during center time to sit on while reading and they use it at rest time as a pillow . They are very easy to clean and make my students comfortable. They are easy for my students to manage and help create a warm and welcoming environment. Thank you for supporting my classroom and my students. I am humbled by your generosity and support.”

Funded Mar 16, 2021Thank you for supporting my project. I am eager to distribute these books to my students. Providing these books will give my students a chance to have their very own books to add or begin an at home library. This is so important now more than ever since most of our public libraries remain closed.
Over the summer many students experience what we call a "summer slide," where they regress over the summer because they are not in school and do not read over the summer. These books will allow my students to read over the summer to avoid the summer slide. It was important to provide the means to do so. Thank you again for supporting my students. I'm humbled by your generosity and support.”

Funded Mar 3, 2021Thank you so much for providing material for my students to learn at home. Upon just announcing that the project was funded I received immediate notes of gratitude and appreciation from my students and their families.
The kits in this project include materials for reading, math, writing and fine and gross motor activities. I am looking forward to showing my students and families how to use these materials to bring their child's learning home. The materials support learning concepts and will allow the students to put into practice at home what they learned.
Looking ahead it is great that my students will have these materials to continue to learn at home during the summer.
Thank you for supporting my students, families and my vision to bring learning home.”

Funded Feb 21, 2021There is nothing like a real book. In pre-k students are just gaining foundational reading skills. We have a library center where students can select books of their choice to read/look at during center time. Students often select books that were read aloud during class or are interactive.
Since most libraries are closed due to the pandemic it was important to me to enhance my classroom library to include more books. Adding books to the library is always exciting and enticing for my students. I am looking forward to reading the books during our upcoming units of study and during our author study.
Thank you so much for supporting my students, classroom and of course my love of books and reading.”

Home Sweet Classroom
Funded Sep 1, 2020In NYC this year many students have opted for the blended model; meaning they do remote instruction and in person instruction. The material I received has worked well with servicing different groups of students on different days while still creating a cohesive classroom environment.
Our opening to school was delayed but once we opened the students were eager to engage with classroom material. They really enjoyed the weekly calendar and weather chart. Students enjoyed seeing their pictures on the birthday chart as well. I have received many compliments on my classroom environment.
Thank you for supporting my classroom and students. With your donation I was able to create a welcoming, calm, enriching and inviting classroom.”

Anything Is Possible
Funded May 28, 2020I had such a humbling experience delivering the material I received from donors choose. My students were very excited to see me when I visited each child's home to drop off the material. Their families were filled with gratitude. My students were ecstatic to receive play-doh and kinetic sand of their very own to keep. The pictures of their smiles say it all. Within a short time of delivering the material I began receiving pictures of my students and their families enjoying these activities. Thank you so much for supporting my students during this unprecedented time. Thank you for recognizing a need for these resources. I am forever grateful for generosity.”

Funded May 6, 2020What an amazing day! I personally delivered a set of basic school supplies thanks to you to each of my students households. Myself, along with my paraprofessionals were met with big smiles and eyes of excitement as we arrived at each home. The students and families were grateful to see us and receive the much needed supplies. I cannot thank you enough for such a rewarding experience. There is nothing more fulfilling then helping meet a basic need especially that of a small child. Thank you for supporting my students and helping me provide a positive distance learning experience.”
