We are beyond thankful for your kindness and belief in our school community. It just takes one person to be the change we all need and want to see in the world.

We look forward to creating a warm and inviting space for the entire school community.”

  • Finding our Focus one Frame at a Time

    Funded Mar 30, 2015

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions." ― Albert Einstein

We are truly thankful for getting this project funded and look forward to the works our students will put together in the future. It exciting to see the wheels turning as they begin to think of new and exciting projects to create.

The items in this project have sparked our students imaginations to no end. They have set out to explore their inner-selves and to find the beauty in the world around them which in turn they have channeled into projects that adorn our library.

It truly take a village to raise a child and we thank the village for helping get this project funded. stay awesome”

  • Getting Crafty in the Library

    Funded Mar 30, 2015

Our students were super excited when the items for funded by this project arrived. They have used these items throughout the school year to make our corner of the universe a little bit prettier and to also make it their own.

When I went to school we had a time and place set aside to be creative and explore our interests and passions. So many of our students are over-tested and under-prepared to think differently and learn how to enjoy learning as a process. We thank you for believing in our students and taking the time and money to help them continue to have both creative and divergent thoughts.

"Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is."

    – Ernest Hemingway

We plan on making the most out of what there is. Thanks from the bottom of our crafting and excited hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gray

  • Seeing Is Believing!

    Funded Apr 23, 2015

We'd like to thank sincerely thank all of our donors. Without you our project would never have gotten off the ground. As a public school teacher our budgets are so tight and there is only so far it can take us. You have helped us reach that extra mile and for that we are truly thankful.

The world today has so much to offer students in the way of technology and online media. We only need the tools to gain access. Our students have taken virtual field trips, watch fascinating documentaries, and from time to time have just enjoyed a good movie in the company of friends.

Our library is on the cusp of something grand. We are diligently working to bring a sense of community to the three schools we serve. The items in this project are just a few squares added to our community quilt. Thanks for all you do for children, the people that serve them, & the future.

    stay awesome”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gray

  • Learning with a Laptop in the Library!

    Funded Oct 17, 2014

We would like to thank all of our donors for helping to get this project fully funded. Our library needed a laptop for quite some time and we couldn't be more excited for the past projects we've completed and the new projects we hope to work on in the future.

Our students and library community use this laptop for individual and group purposes. Some students complete individuals projects while groups may come in at times to work on class presentations and assignments. Students have taken classes via Khan Academy, CodeNow, Hour of Code, and many other online ed platforms.

Access to 21st century tools is vital for our students to become responsible digital citizens. Frequently we are hindered by small or non-existent budgets. Your generosity has afforded our students the opportunity to learn and grow in new and different ways. For that we offer our sincere thanks and appreciation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gray

  • Excite, Educate, Entertain - Fun in the Library

    Funded Oct 3, 2014

This project could not have come at a better time. While our students are super stressed about testing and state standards they need a place to take a "mental break" and have fun. While they are enjoying the items provided in this project they are also learning in a low-stress environment. We selected items that would push them mentally but still had a sense fun.

Our students are so appreciative of all of the games and learning activities provided through this project. We use them everyday during lunch and when students come to visit throughout the day. The biggest "hit" by far are the Lego pieces. We had Legos but this project allowed us to branch out and create so much more. Now some of our students can build and save their projects for longer periods of time.

Thanks is not enough when expressing our gratitude for all of your help in getting this project funded. We look forward to using the items in the project throughout the year and beyond and thank you all for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gray

We are a campus library that serves three unique schools in New York. Our school library serves Title I schools with over 80% of the student population qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Our students are inquisitive and eager 6th-12th graders that come from a community that has severe socio-economic challenges. While we live in a digital age our students do not have access to digital media and technology. As digital natives, our students must be taught to integrate technology with literature. Unfortunately, our lack of digital media makes it virtually impossible for our students to begin fusing their love of technology with literature.
