  • STEM Instead of Screens

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

My students have enjoyed all of their new materials so much! I am not able to switch some of the STEM toys out from time to time so they have many choices. They have made some really interesting things including houses, castles, cars and more!

The interaction between them has been great to witness. I have several students who are learning English and they are able to practice their speaking and listening skills with their peers through these activities.

I am truly grateful for people like you who can take the time to contribute to our classrooms and provide our students with materials they may not get otherwise. Many of them do not have toys like this at home and I am thankful to have the opportunity to allow them to explore at school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gavioli

  • Send the Books Home!

    Funded Aug 23, 2024

Being able to send books home for the student to read and practice with will not only help them progress, but their families will benefit as well! Many of these students don’t have the resources to have books at home and I am so excited to be able to provide them with some!”

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Wow! I am so grateful for your generosity! This project is going to benefit our students in so many ways. They will not only learn social emotional skills, but academic as well. I can’t wait to see them become so excited about earning their coupons to spend at the store! You are appreciated so much!”

  • Accidents Happen!

    Funded Jun 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations for extra headphones for the first grade team here at my school. We all know that we teach expectations, but accidents happen! With your donations, there is no need to worry that the students will not have headphones to use with their individualized program instruction on their computers. They are able to take their math tests as well! We have programs that allow them to record, so these headphones are perfect because they have a sturdy microphone attached. We are very grateful for people like you!”

  • PBIS Rewards Positive Behaviors!

    Funded Jul 27, 2023

Your donations have been able to reach an entire school of students Prek-5. Through our PBIS program, the students are able to earn coupons for expected behavior when they are showing "The Coburn Way" of being Safe, Responsible, and Kind. After receiving their coupons, they are able to spend them at the Coupon Store to have something to show for their hard work. All of the students are always so excited when it is Coupon Store Day!

Not only are they learning to exhibit good behavior, they are learning to make decisions and other life skills. They have to decide whether to save their coupons for more expensive items, or spend them each week. They notice if they have many coupons or they need to work a little bit harder on showing the expectations to earn more.

It is appreciated by all of the students and teachers at our school that you have thought about us and contributed to our learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gavioli

  • Fun Rewards for Positive Behavior

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

This has not only helped my students this year, but it has helped the entire school! Using our PBIS program, we give positive rewards for behaviors and the students are able to receive coupons when they are exhibiting 'The Coburn Way' of being Kind, Safe and Responsible. Through your donation, they are able to spend their coupons at the "PBIS Cart Store" and have something to show for all of their hard work. All of the items are leveled and they have to decide whether they should spend their coupons or save them for the more higher priced items which encourages them to problem solve and make difficult decisions. So, not only are they learning that they should exhibit good behavior and expectations, but they are learning so many more life lessons. They are always so excited when it is Cart Day!”

  • STEM Instead of Screens!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for adding to our classroom this year! My students have truly enjoyed the materials that we received. Allowing the students to use stem bins in the morning lets them come in and spend time with their friends. They get to talk about what they did at home and especially when we come back from a weekend or a vacation, they are able to share with each other.

I have noticed that my students have become more creative this year. They build all kinds of exciting things with their blocks, legos, and other building materials. So far, I have seen helicopters, cars, houses, machines, and robots! And that is to just name a few!

I really appreciate the fact that you have helped my students have less screen time in the classroom and they get to spend more time enhancing their thinking and social skills.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gavioli

  • PBIS Rewards Expected Behaviors

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Our students are always so excited when they receive new items for the PBIS store. This project has helped us have fun items in the store for students to look forward to purchasing. We have been working really hard on our expected behaviors and it shows when students have a lot of Coburn Coupons to spend. Our positive behaviors have increased this year and we are noticing less and less unexpected behaviors in all areas of the school. It has been great to share with my PBIS team and administrators that we were able to provide all of these items through Donors Choose and we are grateful to have you to support us. Thank you so much!”

  • New Building, New Classroom, New Materials!

    Funded Sep 1, 2022

Having the ability to play games with my students has allowed me to form relationships with them and effectively teach new vocabulary. We have had fun using the BINGO games to learn new words as well as use the card holders to play card games with new vocabulary as well. We are focusing a lot on reading this year, so the SPLASH games have come in handy when having a few extra minutes at the end of lessons to review things they are learning with the reading and classroom teachers. The students are always excited when I bring a new game in to play and I have also been sharing materials with my fellow ESL teachers and they are reporting that their students love the games too! Thank you so much for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gavioli

  • New Kids, New Classroom, New Tools!

    Funded Dec 10, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to my project! I am excited to use these new tools as an ESL teacher to enhance my student’s language, reading, and writing skills. These tools will allow them to work independently and also have models for them to practice their new skills with.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gavioli

My students are from a very special population. None of them are fluent in English and we focus a lot on vocabulary. I love teaching this population and it is amazing how quickly they learn and grow. Although we are able to have great resources, there are just some things that the budget cannot support. Please consider helping my students and I reach our goals! Every little bit helps and the more resources I have in my classroom, the more my students will be able to thrive and learn!
