D. Art Room 24-25
Funded Sep 19, 2024Thank you for making our art room an even better place! Soft lighting and a dry erase board so everyone has access to what we are working on is going to be so impactful for our Downey ducks this year. We appreciate you choosing our classroom to support and can’t wait to show you what we do this year!”

Ms. Giovannello

Funded Jan 5, 2020I could not be more grateful for the materials that were donated to our art room and school through this project. The blocks, tiles and manipulatives are used every single day, especially our special needs students. The sensory tiles and fidgets have been so helpful to have in my 'calm corner' in the classroom. Students know they can go here to take a break, calm themselves or even lay down when they aren't feeling good. Having my students know there is a place like this within the art room makes me so happy! Thank you again for your generous support and donation of this project.”

Clean Art Space! No More Germs!
Funded Feb 24, 2024I hope you can feel the excitement that I haven't gotten sick since this project was funded!! Disinfecting the art room tables and supplies has become a weekly habit for many of my art classes. My students were so surprised to see just how many wipes we received from our donors and we are forever grateful. What's even more exciting is that these materials will carry us into next fall, a time when students are always getting sick, so we will be using them daily during those first few months back at school. Again, we thank you for your kindness and support in the needs of our art room and school!”

Books, Bins & Seats!
Funded Dec 22, 2023I just want to take the time to thank you for your donation to our art room. Literacy is such a big part of the Brockton Public Schools initiatives and improvement plans that having a working classroom library is crucial for our success. Students have been able to access ALL the books I have including fiction and non-fiction, artist biographies, and more. Thanks to your donation, none of the books fall inside the bookcase and are lost anymore! We are also so thankful to have the tabletop bookshelf which has helped organize all our drawing books, making them easier to see and access.
Lastly, the flexible seating for our book area has been so helpful. Students who need cube chairs or cushions can use them when they need to.
I appreciate the support and my students do too!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Giovannello

Funded Feb 8, 2023I cannot begin to thank you for all the amazing supplies we were able to receive in the Downey art room thanks to your kindness and generosity. The students loved looking at the new books, they were so excited to see some different books on our book shelf instead of the same ones we've been using all year long. The students who are using the weaving materials will be doing so in the next few weeks! They cannot wait to be able to use the materials that were provided. Our fourth graders are going to be making the pot holders. The fifth graders are going to be using the paper plates to do a circle weaving. My special needs students and younger students have already used the lacing cards and loved them! I am extra thankful because many of the supplies are going to last me through next year. I always have students looking to see what they are doing in art next year so it'll be great to be able to fulfill their wishes thanks to you! Thank you for your support.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Black History Month Partners and 3 other donors.Art Room: Our Second Home
Funded Oct 26, 2022My students are loving the supplies you helped us purchase! The stool covers are such a nice, fun, bright addition to our space. Since using the seat covers, the students haven't written on any stools, such a WIN! You should have seen their faces when they first came into the art room to see all the stools! They were truly shocked!
The air cushions have been a great addition for my students with disabilities and students who need a little extra to help them concentrate. They are able to rock on the air cushion without rocking their chair, making for a quiet yet successful experience!
We also got to try out the black light for a black light paint party that one of my 3rd grade classes earned. They had an absolute blast painting in the black lit room with the glow in the dark paint.
I am always working to make my students feel welcome, feel comfortable, and have a great experience in the art room. I want them to look forward to coming to art each week and want them to enjoy the art making process.
Thank you again for your contribution, I hope you'll continue to follow and support my art room!”

Funded Dec 31, 2018Our classroom is becoming so much more organized thanks to your donations! My students are working efficiently in their drawing and collage centers. We just opened our painting center and thanks to your donations, the center will be organized and easy for the students to use and access the materials. Some of my classes will finish up the year using the materials at the fiber center and doing a special project with the materials you helped us with! We are so thankful for you! Miss G Loves Technolo-G!
Funded Sep 5, 2015My students absolutely LOVE the iPad and Osmo system! I have been talking about it for months am finally ready to bring it into the classroom and use it as a reward for the next few months and then as a regular rotating scheduled center after that. My students have seen how the programs work and have gotten to test out the Osmo Tangram game (a GREAT collaboration of Art & Math!) and the Osmo Masterpiece program, where students create drawings using the program. Later in the year we will use the Osmo Words Game to practice some art vocabulary we have learned throughout the year.
My students are most excited to be able to use the Masterpiece program. Fostering imagination and building confidence in creative work, students will be able to draw anything they can imagine. Images are captured via camera, pulled from an internet search or from the Masterpiece gallery, making Masterpiece a modern drawing (or coloring) book. Masterpiece also allows multiple objects from the physical world and digital world (online images) to be combined to create completely new compositions. It nurtures spatial intelligence and builds confidence over time and is a great practice tool for drawing proportions. For young students, drawing can be a roadblock to self-confidence. Now students can feel good about their work. Also collaborative, Masterpiece makes an amazing time-lapse video of each of the students drawings that are a fun and unique movie for them to share with friends and family!
Thank you again for your kind and generous donation. Your gift to our art room is one that will last us years to come.
I wish you and your family a holiday filled with happiness and joy.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Giovannello
