  • STEM-STAARS: Math and Science Experts

    Funded Oct 6, 2015

My graduating class of 2025 and I sincerely thank you for investing your time and funds into our educational growth. I have seen so many light bulbs over the past couple of months and I can't deny that the tools I purchased with the funds you provided have been the main reason. My students are so excited and love learning in my class because of this. I've heard " this is so cool", " I love this game", " I tell my mom only to get gas from chevron because they care about us" and so many other comments. One of my students wrote a letter that stated "...Chevron really cares about and they know you are a really good teacher and that's why they gave you so much money to spend on us because they don't want us to just go to 3rd grade they want us to go to college too.

We have incorporated the resources into our daily rotation. We go to stations for about an hour each day, where students engage in hands on and technological learning.

I have seen strides with all of my students, especially those I tutor in our after school program. Their behavior has also improved because I use extra station and computer time as an incentive.

Thank you so much for all of your help! You have made a world of difference in each one of my kids!”
