  • Snack Packs for Rejuvenation

    I hope that you know the impact that you have had on my students. I was always asked why I never used the snacks as simply rewards. However, I had to think about it. Students will approach me at 7 am because they are genuinely hungry. It would be unfair to only give to "well-performing" students. The snacks are a need and the students are very grateful for them. They always ask "miss, where are you getting these snacks?" "Are you selling them?" and I'd simply reply "No, they're all for you guys and were donated from groups of strangers."”

  • Yummy Incentives

    My students were both shocked and excited after having received something as simple as snacks to make their day go round'. They couldn't believe that someone really made this donation to them personally and that strangers they knew not, delivered items for them. They are now able to go throughout the day without feeling hungry and are also be to be rewarded for a good job done.

    They are now even wanting to share with those who aren't even in our class but those who also need a cheer-up.

This project will assist in keeping my students focused and engaged in learning. Many students come to class hungry. This is a huge distraction and it prevents them from being fully engaged in learning. Snacks are also a great source of motivation. Whether it may be chips, crackers, or starbursts, students jump at the idea of being able to earn something when they truly do put in work to increase their creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. Students deserve to be rewarded and having snacks are the perfect incentive to keep them going. The past year has been interesting and stressful. Students need motivation and engagement to continue learning. I will be able to not only incentivize but also provide support where it may be needed. Incentives can impact a student's emotional needs and can positively impact their academic performance. The incentives will be used throughout this school year.

About my class
