  • Red Carpet Treatment

    Funded Jan 12, 2019

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You have touched myself and my students with your kindness and generosity. I cannot begin to express how convenient and more easy your gifts have made the daily operations of our classroom better. As you will read in the letters my students have written, they definitely appreciate the new additions to their classroom. They tell me that we needed an upgrade. They tell me a lot of things. Most times I listen, this time I did, and I am happy that you listened and understood that we really needed the items requested. It makes me so happy when the students show interest, grab a stool and sit closer to me during the lessons that I give. It makes me know that what I am teaching is of importance. Again, thank you. You are truly appreciated.”

  • Let Our Voices Be Heard

    Funded Apr 10, 2018

It is with much gratitude that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This gift has been a tremendous help in my classroom. I knew that constantly yelling because of the highway noise, and having to wait on local traffic was time consuming and tiresome, however, I honestly didn't realize how much I was struggling before the mikes and speaker were given to me. My voice has been feeling much better and it is not sore all the time. This was not only great for my students, but also great for my health. It is because of the mikes and speaker, more hearing impaired students have been placed in my class. Starting with this equipment has made the beginning of the school year easier for me to manage. You have done a great deed and you have made this teacher extremely happy!”

  • Prevent an Academic Uprising in my Classroom! Need GRAPHIC NOVELS!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I'm sending out a huge thank you for the donation of a graphic novel library. I cannot begin to tell you the positive impact that it has on my students. The number of books read in my classroom has skyrocketed. Kids from other classes are asking to borrow the books. The graphic novels especially helps me with my struggling readers. Teaching plot line, vocabulary and character's motivation has become much easier because the students understand faster. When you enter my classroom and graphic novels are being read, you can hear a pin drop. I have to call some of my students' names several times before they hear me because they are so enthralled in their reading. Sometimes they just stand in front of the graphic novel section and stare. I get such an awesome feeling when I see this, and it is all because of you. I could not say thank you enough. My struggling readers used to shy away from reading, now, I sometimes catch them trying to sneak a book to read. I would not have believed it if I did not see it myself. You have touch so many educators with your generosity. Again, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Archer

  • Oh No! Big Bertha Can't Retire Yet!

    Funded Dec 20, 2017

Thank you immensely for the donation of ink for Roscoe (my printer donated by Donor's Choose). The colors are extremely vivid and they make my classroom pop. The students love how colorful their classroom has become. I could not believe that I had forgotten to order ink. Your donation was a life-saver. My student's scolded me for forgetting the ink. I was embarrassed and deserved the scolding. Thank you for coming to my rescue.

As you can see, Roscoe can now start his new job in the classroom and he's wonderful at it. Bertha was worried that she would have to continue working, and being a 15 year old printer that would have been a bit of a push. Now she's relaxing and enjoying her well needed retirement. Again, thank you for Roscoe's working tools.”

    With gratitude,

  • Please Help Me Put Big Bertha to Pasture

    Funded Dec 14, 2017

Thank you! I cannot express how grateful I am for the new printer (Roscoe). He has made a world of difference in my classroom. I can get my work done without the stress of having to look for a printer. The students are on cloud nine. Having a printer is one less thing that they have to worry about in their lives. They LOVE the printer, and thankfully they do not take advantage of it. They use it respectfully and they always make sure not to overprint anything. I am so proud of the way that they are taking care of Roscoe.

Big Berta's retirement party was a blast. The kids enjoyed it. She enjoyed it as well. The speeches given were phenomenal. Everyone ate, sang, and danced the lunch period away. She welcomed Roscoe with open portals. You all made this happen, we could not have done it without you.

Again, Thank you for your donation of the Lexmark printer. From the depths of my heart it is greatly appreciated and will be cared for. I know that Roscoe will last as long or longer than Big Bertha.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Archer

Big Bertha is my printer (HP LaserJet 1200 series). We've had her since 2002. That's 15 years. But now she's acting a little funny and I believe that she wants to retire, however she just doesn't know how to tell us. In her hay day she would print multiple copies, print quickly and she wouldn't eat your paper. However now she can no longer prints more than one page before repeating the entire printing process over again, she crushes paper and she takes about 5 minutes before she starts to print. Allowing Big Bertha to retire and getting a new printer would be the kind thing to do, this would allow my students to get all of their necessary printing needs met as well as allow Bertha to leave with dignity. Also my students and I wouldn't be so stressed trying to find a printer when Bertha has her occasional hiccups. It is extremely difficult teaching 80 students with a "uncooperative" printer. However, some things must come to an end. Let's make this a good ending.
