  • Greenhouse Growth: Cultivating Ourselves Through Plants, Nature, & Skills

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

I hope this message finds you well! On behalf of my students and our school community at Pittsburgh Langley PreK-8, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous contribution to our DonorsChoose project. Because of your support, we were able to acquire the necessary items to renovate our greenhouse, transforming it into an inspiring space where learning and creativity can thrive.

This revitalized greenhouse has profoundly impacted my students' learning. They are now able to engage in hands-on science experiments, observe plant growth up close, and connect these experiences to art projects that reflect the beauty of nature. The opportunity to learn in an immersive environment has sparked their curiosity and fostered a deeper understanding of the natural world. Additionally, by integrating lessons from other subjects, students are making meaningful cross-curricular connections that enhance their overall educational experience.

The excitement in my classroom is palpable as my students eagerly anticipate the chance to explore this new space. I am truly grateful for your generosity and commitment to enriching their educational experience. Your contribution has made a meaningful impact, and we can't wait to see all the beautiful and educational connections that will grow from it.

Thank you once again for supporting our vision and investing in our students' futures. We are incredibly grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Eiker

  • Miss Eiker's Art Class Drawing Center!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

I hope this letter finds you well. On behalf of Pittsburgh Langley Art Class, I am writing to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation towards the creation of our new Drawing Center in the art classroom. Your support has made a profound difference, not only in the physical space but in the lives of our students and the future of their artistic journeys.

Thanks to your contribution, we have been able to transform our vision into reality. The new Drawing Center is now a vibrant, inspiring space where students can explore their creativity, develop new skills, and express themselves through the visual arts. The addition of high-quality materials, ample workspace, and specialized tools has already had a significant impact on their ability to engage in their craft at a deeper level.

The space is being used daily by students of all levels, from beginners to advanced artists. It has become a place where imagination flourishes and where students are encouraged to experiment, collaborate, and refine their skills. Through the support of donors like you, we have not only enhanced the physical environment but also created an atmosphere that fosters self-expression and artistic growth.

We are excited to share that the new Drawing Center has already led to impressive outcomes. Students are exploring new techniques, engaging more deeply in their projects, and feeling a renewed sense of ownership over their work. Several have even expressed a desire to pursue art beyond the classroom, with some exploring careers in visual arts or related fields. This is a testament to the power of your donation, which has helped cultivate a lasting impact on their education and personal growth.

None of this would have been possible without your kindness and support. We are incredibly grateful for your belief in our mission and in the importance of arts education. Your donation is not just an investment in our classroom—it's an investment in the creative potential of every student who walks through our doors.

We will continue to honor your contribution by ensuring that the Drawing Center remains a space of opportunity and inspiration for years to come. Please know that your support is making a tangible difference in the lives of our students, and we look forward to keeping you updated on their progress and the ongoing impact of your generosity.

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support. We are proud to have you as a partner in nurturing the next generation of artists.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Eiker

  • Diverse Books for Art Classes

    Funded Dec 11, 2023

Thank you again so much for your donations towards our project for more diverse books in the art classroom. These were extraordinary resources for my students to have, especially within the celebration of Black History Month. I loved being able to use these books to allow for additional inspiration with our art projects, as well as, resources for students to use for inspiration on their own work. Students enjoyed using the books to help them come up with ideas when creating their self portraits and celebrating the things that make them special and unique. It was so beneficial to have these books to help share how everyone is different and to show those differences in such positive lights.

My third grade students have really enjoyed reading the books on their down time, when they finish projects or assignments early. I have a few students' who have made it their personal goal to read ALL of the new books that we received.

I have also enjoyed reading these books to my 1st grade students everyday. They can come in rather excitable, and we have been taking a few minutes each day to read part or one of the books that we received to help the students calm their bodies and get ready for making some beautiful artwork.

Thank you again so much for your kindness and generosity in your donation. These books will be an essential and beautiful addition to our classroom for all to enjoy in the coming years!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Eiker
