My school is a Title 1 school, meaning a school of high need and behavior students, as well as a student population that has more than 80% of the students on the "Reduced Lunch Program" due to students coming from low income families. While we do have this title, our school strives to make sure these students are being immersed into technology, so it is not coming as a surprise. In third grade it is no different. We work hard to implement various types of technology into all subject areas, and the students love it. My class has grown in their confidence towards using technology, especially having access to iPads and a smart board. My students are a very lively bunch, that are constantly moving. They think technology adds a sense of fun to a lesson. It gives a whole new spin, giving the ability to make the lessons more interactive, keeping the students interested.
