Students learn differently. I'm hoping to provide students with a set of headphones so that they can listen to audio versions of text as they read in order to increase comprehension and fluency. Not all students can afford a set of headphones. In order to differentiate learning, I provide independent reading time with student choice. Not all students can read at the same level, so this time is crucial in fostering reading. I have classes with high numbers of English Learners and Special Education students; audio is an indispensable tool to close the gaps of learning and reading. These materials will allow students to watch as I model reading while annotating. The individual packs of headphones will be kept in the classroom and used for more than 160 students. The board markers are for writing expectations during silent reading time.
