Decodable Comic Stories to Help All Students Love Reading!
Funded Apr 4, 2024The decodable comic stories have been a great addition to our book room.
Teachers are able to pull comic stories based on the feature to match what they are working on in whole and small group.
This allows students another opportunity to practice the new skill in a different type of text.
Since the comic stories are black and white, students can also color the pictures in the stories.
Students are able to use the copied comic stories to take home to practice too.
Having another option to engage students in reading is such a blessing!”

Help Students Learn to R-E-A-D!
Funded Feb 19, 2022Your donation provided decodables texts to add to our book room. Our special education and 3rd grade teachers are seeing a greater need for decodable texts this year. We have a number of students with gaps in their phonics and phonemic awareness skills in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Our teachers have been able to check out the decodable books and use alongside our intervention curriculum for phonics and phonemic awareness. They have been super beneficial.
Thank you so much for making this happen for my teachers and students.”

A Little Something Special for Students Learning to Read!
Funded Mar 23, 2022I am beyond grateful for your generous donation. Our students were so excited to be able to choose a prize after tutoring groups. We decided to let them choose a prize at the end of the week. The tutors stated that it was nice to have an incentive to provide the students for their hard work during the week. With the students being struggling readers, they certainly deserved a little something to reward their effort during group time. It allowed them to have a little something special to end the week with.”

Engaging Activities for Young Learners that Also Support Teachers
Funded May 4, 2021Your donations have supplied funds to purchase engaging activities for students from teachers pay teachers.
I was able to purchase several STEM resources and activities for summer school. The activities were well planned and thought out. The students really enjoyed the activities.
For the beginning of the school year, I was able to purchase some things to support students social emotional learning. Some students had not stepped foot in a school building since March 2019. It is nice to be able to support other educators on TPT.”

Funded Apr 27, 2021Your contribution has provided a clean and safe area for students and teachers. Last school year, I pulled students for intervention groups in my room.
This year my room serves as a data and planning room for the teachers in my building. The air purifier cleans the air when teachers meet to collaboratively plan in my room.
The wipes, gloves, soap and paper towels also add to the cleanliness of my room. Teachers are able to wash their hands, wipe the tables and have access to gloves if they desire.”

Funded Dec 19, 2020Your donation to support my project has made a major difference in my instructional delivery. I am able to use the iPad to enhance my intervention lessons. Having the Apple Pen, allows me to use the iPad as a White board during phonics lessons.
The iPad and pen have been especially helpful during my lessons with Kindergarten students. Our Kindergarten student all have iPads to use for concurrent instruction. Having the same operating system as them allows me to easily troubleshoot issues with Seesaw. Seesaw is a program we use with the Kindergarten students to engage in lessons.
Thank you again for the donation to support my instructional; delivery!”

Let's Read! Putting Books in the Hands of Students
Funded Dec 24, 2020Your donation allowed each child in our school to choose 1-2 books to take home. Students in grades PreK-5 were able to experience your kindness through the donation of books.
On March 1st, we began a concurrent learning model for elementary school. With that, some students come to school to learn while others are at home learning on Zoom. The books were sorted by appropriate grade level, organized on a cart, and taken around to each classroom. The students were able to take turns choosing their book. Another colleague called it a "walking book fair". The excitement on a fifth graders face was exactly the same excitement that was on a first grader.
After almost a year of virtual teaching and learning, being able to place a physical book in each student's hands was quite a treat. This opportunity would not have been possible without you.
Thank you again!!”

You've Got Mail! Promoting Literacy At Home Through Mailed Incentives
Funded Dec 18, 2020Your donation to this project has impacted many students. When the materials first arrived, we were still 100% virtual. As of March 1st, the elementary students are in a concurrent model of learning. Some students are at home on Zoom and some are at school in their classrooms learning.
Before March 1st, students enjoyed receiving the prize in the mail. With the prize, I included a certificate with their name and date. It was encouraging to see the students hold on their prize and express their excitement on Zoom once they received it in the mail. I did notice that other students began to engage more on the platforms in order to earn a prize as well.
Now that we are partially back in school, I deliver the prizes to the students when they come to school. I plan to continue to mail our virtual students their prizes.
Thank you again for your generous donation!”

Bouncing to Learn with Flexible Seating
Funded Sep 10, 2019Currently, we are using our flexible seating tools every moment we get. We have been learning about Rounding and Estimation during our math block. We have used a lot of partner learning games to reinforce math skills.
During this time, the students enjoy the opportunity to use flexible seating. They feel more comfortable laying down on the floor with a lap desk or leaning back on the cat pillows. During Guided Reading Time- Read to Self Station and Independent Reading Time, the most popular area is by the library with the cat pillows.
My students' faces were filled with joy when they saw the boxes being delivered to the classroom. Our next steps will be to continue to build our flexible seating options. Eventually, we would like to use flexible seating the entire day.”
