Creating a Comfortable Classroom

Thank you so much for contributing to my DonorsChoose project! Every day students (both those that are currently mine as well as others from around the building) will tell me how much they love my classroom. I get comments like, "I don't know, its just so cozy in here," on a regular basis. When students walk into my classroom for the first time, their eyes light up in wonder. It's the sweetest thing, and it's largely because of you!

Your donations to my classroom have helped me create a warm environment where students feel comfortable, accepted, and loved. Because of the physical comfort they feel when they're sitting in my room, students are more apt to opening up about their struggles with curriculum and I am better able to teach them.

Even in fifth grade, my students still love to come to the carpet for read alouds and class discussions. Having the bright and "aesthetic" rug for my class provides comfort and conversation! The pub table (which is used as a standing desk for me and my students) is a hit! It helps me accommodate different learning styles and the kids love to work from it. The math games are also a huge hit! It is so much fun watching my students race to play (and win) the Mobi math tiles games!
