    Funded Mar 23, 2025

Thank you for making it possible for us to be prepared for our upcoming competitions and events! We could not have done this without your kind and giving hearts. • "What's Next?" Emergency Menstrual Kits

    Funded Feb 25, 2025

We are so excited and grateful for your generosity and kindness. This was fully funded more swiftly than anticipated, thanks to the kindness of a California family who matched donations made to this project. My students will be equipped to comfortably complete their work and navigate through the day with dignity if they start their period while at school. You are appreciated for a small act done with great love.”

  • Reduce & Reuse: Let's Recycle at RCMS!

    Funded Sep 8, 2023

The River City Red Tails have been so enthusiastic about learning how to properly recycle. My students have enjoyed putting together our aluminum can crusher and condensing cans, and have been diligent about rinsing recyclables prior to placing them in the receptacles. Additionally, we have been collecting the aluminum can tabs to donate to our local Children's Hospital, as they use them for crafts.

They have also enjoyed getting fresh air on our trips to empty the bins.

Beautiful words and art do not seem like it could thank you enough. Your kindness and commitment to exploratory learning by donating money to procure items connected to our past, current, and future lessons. We are appreciative of you helping in small ways, because it makes a great difference to us.”

  • Engaging & Exciting New Reads!

    Funded Nov 4, 2021

You've shown up and showed out to provide more books for my students. We are appreciative and have been enjoying these books since they've promptly arrived via Amazon Prime. They have raved as they have turned the pages. Favorite authors have even been discovered, such as Nic Stone and Angie Thomas, since their protagonists look like many of the students I teach. Among the most popular selections have been the graphic novel style reads Hunter x Hunter, Snapdragon, and the Tristan Strong trilogy. Also highly enjoyed are the tv and film adjacent selections such as Marvel Comics and Avatar: The Last Airbender, made popular by the Nickelodeon cartoon. Several students have even requested to borrow books and take them home to enjoy. The bookshelves have been a hit since they resemble trees, and I have labeled the "branches" with themes relating to the content areas of the texts. Thanks for showing my students how great it feels to unplug and get lost in a book. They're already asking what we can add to our class library next!”

  • I've Got My Students' Back, But Mine HURTS!

    Funded May 25, 2021

Thank you for supporting our classroom. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get my project funded so quickly during such a challenging time for many due to the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the world slowing its pace from her usual routine, you gave unselfishly in order to help meet my students' varying needs.

Now that we will be returning to in-person instruction, these items will help me in my new co-teaching spaces. There are several changes to adjust to as we strive to safely instruct our students, and comfort will not need to be a compromise.

Additionally, the organizers will assist me with keeping items in a designated space, and move frequently used items between co-teaching spaces. Thank you for helping me remain as I return to #LeadWithLove.”

  • Printer Needed for IEP Progress Reports

    Funded Mar 3, 2021

Thank you for supporting our classroom. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get my project funded so quickly during such a challenging time for many due to the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the world slowing its pace from her usual routine, you gave unselfishly in order to help meet my students' varying needs.

The printer enabled me to print, mail, and hand-deliver urgent items to my students and their families. In addition to sharing important updates regarding student progress, I was able to share information regarding local organizations that assist students with disabilities.

Now that we will be returning to in-person instruction, this printer will still be able to serve the needs of me and my students. Continuing to print reports to send home to families. We will now be able to send out scholarship, college, and trade school applications with ease.

Thank you for helping me #LeadWithLove.”

  • This Book Could Be About Me!

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your generous contributions to complete this project. My students are enjoying Student Select Reading (SSR) time thanks to the wide selection of books to choose from. I wish I could show you through words alone how wide and bright the smiles I have seen when recommending a book I know a student would enjoy.

My students have been devouring these new books, getting into competitions over who gets which book first, and asking to borrow selections to finish reading at home. This would not have been possible without your belief in our educational practice. The graphic novel selections have been a hit, and they are asking for more books of all types!

You are greatly appreciated for making reading enjoyable for both myself and my students, as we read learn and grow with one another.”

  • Stable Classroom Furniture

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

Thank you all for providing access to new quality furniture that is also comfortable so my students can focus during instruction. The tables originally listed in the project description were out of stock, so I took to social media and had my students vote on what would be added to our shared space.

The winner was a dry erase table by Amazon. We were able to acquire three, along with dry erase markers, emoji erasers, and a few stools for flexible seating for the same cost of the original selections!

Our new furniture is a hit with my students, and they have expressed joy and pride in our new classroom. I hope to have these materials for years to come -sharing them with students throughout the years to assist us in new approaches to working in groups on classwork and special projects.”

As an Exceptional Education teacher, I teach students with diverse learning abilities and personalities in self-contained and collaborative teaching settings. My students deserve the best, and unfortunately I'm not always able to give them what they need to diversify and enhance instruction. The wonderful platform that is DonorsChoose.org enables me to makeup for financial deficits thanks to your generosity. So far, I have been able to give my students an iPad for use during instruction, and a sensory area to decompress as we take "Brain Breaks" during instructional time. What we are able to do through DonorsChoose is unlimited, thanks to the help of family, friends, dedicated supporters, anonymous donors, and donation boosts. I truly appreciate your visit to my page, and hope you will decide to make contributions to our projects so we can close the achievement gap, and make a difference in the lives of my students.
