  • Calm Corner

    Funded Mar 6, 2025

Today we received our wonderful materials and our students were instantly filled with joy. We were immediately able to set up the student's white board with markers to help have access to the vocabulary for the lessons. We were able to add illustrations as well to help create meaning.

In addition, the new toner cartridge allowed us to print out vocabulary sheets that will help increase literacy in each unit.

Finally, each student were given their very own crayola marker's to help with homework assignments. They love them.

We are most grateful to your generous spirit.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rabinowitz

  • A Computer for Our Classroom

    Funded Nov 22, 2024

My students came in today with the biggest smiles on their faces seeing their brand-new computer. We are so excited to set it up in our classroom and use it for projects.

Our students come here with so little so receiving a new fancy computer is really special to them. We will connect it to the Promethean board for lessons, special projects and, hopefully videos to help them with English comprehension. Technology is a great way for them to increase their literacy skills.

This wonderful gift came just in time for the holidays and we are so grateful to you for your generous donation. Please know it will be of great use.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rabinowitz

  • Hungry Kiddos!

    Funded Oct 29, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The snacks have started to arrive and the children arrived today to a lovely surprise. You should have seen their faces. We already started incorporating the snacks into our lesson and will continue offering snacks to our students to help them have energy during the day.

Today, we opened the boxes and started writing short thank-you letters. My students only arrived recently in this country and writing thank you is still a lesson for them. They wrote this happily and enthusiastically.

I am certain these items will be enjoyed as long as they last. Thank you again for helping my students acclimate to America.”

    With gratitude,

  • Hispanic Heritage

    Funded Oct 2, 2024

Thank you so much for helping us. Thanks to your donations we have begun to create artifacts to display around the school to show the pride our students feel in their Hispanic Heritage.

The students were so excited when the packages arrived and we have already begun to decorate the classroom and the hallways with their work and we will continue to create additional materials throughout the year to showcase thanks to your generous donations.

Finally, we are decorating our new folders to keep their work in.

    Thanks again!”

  • Snack and Learn

    Funded Apr 19, 2024

Today when we returned from our spring break we arrived to our wonderful snacks and containers. The students were so very excited. As we dove into our English lesson, each child was able to ask for a snack and enjoy it while learning. We even incorporated it into our lesson saying, "this is a snack." Later this afternoon, we will sort and label all of our wonderful treats.

We are so very grateful to you and your generous donations. Today, we received another newcomer and on his very first day of school, he was greeted with such a lovely gift.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Terrific Translations

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Today we received all our supplies and the kids were so excited. Already we are using the markers to create posters about our experiences and backgrounds.

In addition, the toner, which the students helped me put in, came just in time as we needed it to print out handouts, translations and student work. We also were able to print it on the paper provided. This is fantastic and makes learning another language much easier.

We are so grateful to have these supplies. Thanks again for helping us.”

  • Food and Clothing

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

The items you have sent us so generously have been put to use right away by our recent arrivals, especially the clothing. Our students have come here with so little so receiving clean and comfortable clothing especially socks has been imperative for their well-being.

Each day, during class and in afterschool our students eagerly await their snacks and always ask for more. They are so grateful for each and every item and so am I.

Many of them come to school with dirty and worn clothes and you can see their pride when they come in the next day with a clean shirt or bottom. You have made such a difference in their lives.

    We are forever grateful.”

Our students just arrived in this country and thanks to you already feel at home.

Their faces when the new items arrived was absolutely priceless.

We divided the resources and now each student has a notebook and folder for their English class. They are able to decorate the items and feel ownership.

In addition, they are very much enjoying using their headphones to watch language videos and other resources during technology.

Thanks to your generosity our new arrivals feel at home in their new surroundings.

We are grateful for all your help.

  • Basic Needs

    Funded Mar 9, 2024

Our newcomers are thrilled to have so many different items to help make their transition into the United States an easier one.

They helped open up all the boxes and have been given various hygiene products to take home. In addition, we were able to give out basic supplies that they can use in their classrooms to support their learning as well as for their homework. They are already using them to get to work!

We are so very grateful for your help. Please know how much we appreciate your generosity. Your items are in good hands.”

  • Snack and Learn

    Funded Nov 19, 2023

Our snacks and classroom items arrived today and the children already dug into the boxes with absolute joy. Most kids come to school on an empty stomach and their eyes lit up when they saw the boxes and boxes of snacks.

Already, we opened a few choice items to share and their energy level went up exponentially. They are excited to learn and thoroughly enjoy having their favorite snacks available. We will be sharing them throughout the school year.

Thank you again for helping our classroom and students succeed.

    Happy holidays!”

Students will study a specific curriculum, and then be able to work with a group to make a food or drink that accompanies the lesson. If studying health, they can learn to make smoothies with the blender. When studying social studies they can use bowls, kitchen utensils to mix and bake food that was eaten by that culture. By creating an inclusive classroom with cooking supplies students from other countries will be able to work directly with their teacher and classmates to lead in lessons based on their cultures and cuisine. They will have the opportunity to choose their own recipes and share and eat their creations on the utensils we will order. My students are English Language Learners and this project will allow them a fun, creative way to learn not only language but key academic skills that will allow them to excel in school. The convection oven will be used by the students to understand temperature ranges and to bake specialty items like: cakes and breads that correspond with the units of study. The microwave will be used to show how solids change to liquids, and melt food items so they can be used as part of a meal, such as sauces. In addition, microwaves will be used to prepare small meals that the students can then write about the steps needed to complete specific tasks. We are requesting measuring cups which are a great way for the students to reinforce their math skills by measuring cups of flower, oil and other ingredients. All food needed for materials will need to be stored in mini fridge. We will use kitchen utensils to increase vocabulary and noun and verb recognition. Vegetables will be cut on the cutting boards and used to prepare fajitas.
