In our classroom we use open-ended materials, to engage in play. In the curriculum used, Highscope, child interest is a way for our students to LEARN. Not only will the child be engaged in play they will be learning problem solving, shapes, peer interaction, and adult interaction amongst much more that can come from just the play in the block area. Our classroom will use the blocks to create and use our imagination to build anything and everything from stages for a superstar to cages for the lions in the zoo! Play is a big part of our day and these blocks are used every day!
