My 6th grade middle school students attend a school that is currently under program improvement. About 75% of them qualify for free/reduced lunch. They are eager, enthusiastic learners and are excited about learning history and Language Arts in their class. I am both their Language Arts & Social Studies teacher so I spend a lot of time bridging their understanding of concepts across the two disciplines. Since California is facing a budget crisis, it has been very difficult to obtain the supplies that I've needed. In previous years, I have been able to receive these items with a $100 school voucher, but that has been eliminated. They have worked hard all year. This would be a great opportunity for them to bridge and fully develop their understanding of concepts while integrating technology to make learning fun!
