  • Middle School Community Connections

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

These games and equipment have allowed the middle school students to connect in new ways! Thank you for helping is expand our programs to the outside and be more expressive and free to explore new games that our school wasn't able to offer recently. Since technology is all around us, the young people have not had the opportunity to play games and meet new people. The games like the large Jenga and the corn hole are new activities that we are able to offer during lunch and select days. It has been wonderful to see the students interacting and joyful!”

  • Understanding the Anxious Generation

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

This book is exactly what we need at this time! Our school district is implementing a district-wide cell phone policy that will require all stakeholders to be on the same page. The book, the Anxious Generation, provides both research and clear examples for everyone to have the language to tackle this issue head on. While we will have some pushback on the policy, at least we can begin to have meaningful conversations about the negative effects of social media and the use of excessive technology with students and community members. Thank you for giving is this gift of language.”

  • Classroom Supplies for a Strong Start

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

These supplies have given us all we need to feel comfortable starting the year strong. Every student in my class is given a composition notebook, post-its, and a pen to help them feel ready for each school day. The students were able to create vision boards and connect on assignments with the post-its and pens. Post-its are often used in book clubs so they can comment on what they read for the day and how they continue to be inspired by one another. My class will continue to use the materials all year long. I appreciate your support!”

  • Calm, Cool, and Connected Through Games!

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

We have had SO much fun with these games in my classroom for fun Fridays. The students did not expect to connect and enjoy the brain breaks as much as they did with the Genius Squares. The games allowed them challenge their minds and one another in a healthy and fun way. The different square configurations are so challenging sometimes that they get frustrated and also excited. These emotions are welcomed and encouraged as we work through everything together. Thank you again for helping us connect to one another in a new way that wouldn't be possible without your support.”

  • Literature Circle Library Sets that Build SEL

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

These books have brought my classroom discussions to life! At the beginning of the book club cycle, the students engaged in a "Book Club book tasting". Because we had so many books to look at, the students had about thirty to forty-five minutes to look at the books and take notes. From there, they identified the ones that they liked the most. Then, I placed the students in Book Clubs which they met with once a week. It has been a joy to see them taking notes and discussing books they actually like! This has connected them together and increased their love of reading. Thank you for your generosity!”

  • Stickers for Community Connection

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

These stickers have brought so much joy to our school community, and I can attest to this because I have used them in my own classroom. We have used them in various ways already, such as voting on our favorite projects and posters. This has given the students voice and choice in sharing their opinion without having verbalize it. These stickers have also been proven to be helpful in bringing joy to the students who have completed a school wide task such as a scavenger hunt or lunchtime activity. Thank you so much!”

  • A Safe Place to Store Cell Phones

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Thank you for equipping us with the tools to provide the students a safe and supportive place for learning. The cell phone "homes" have given the students a place to put their device away in a secure location while they are engaging in class instruction. Being able to do this has given the students more opportunities to connect and stay focused on their assignments, one another and themselves. It has truly made a difference in the classroom culture and the connections being made with one another.”

  • Positive Affirmation Project

    Funded May 9, 2024

With these posters and markers, we were able to bring a little more joy and sunshine into the lives of our students. The students chose different affirmations, and the peer counselors created large posters to be displayed all around the campus for everyone to see. Because this is a student-led project, many of the affirmations connected to the different students and were easy to relate to.

We hope that this project continues to make a positive impact on our community and that it creates a ripple effect for other teachers and their projects.”
