  • Expanding Reading

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

First off I want to say how much I appreciate your support and understanding of a delayed thank you package. I got this project funded right before COVID hit and its been a crazy roller coaster ever since. Unfortunately, our district has decided to go virtual learning for the fall and will not be seeing kids in the classroom. Because of this the books will be greatly used once we return to school.

I know my students are going to be so grateful to get back into the classroom and get their hands on these new non fiction books to help them with their informative writing prompts. My students absolutely love reading about different kinds of animals and learning about their characteristics and interesting facts.

Thank you for continuing to support students and teachers through this difficult time and giving us the materials that we need to continue teaching the learning of students whether it is virtual or in person.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Crabtree

  • Engaging and Organized Classroom for Success!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

First off I wanted to say how truly grateful I am that you funded my classroom project. I have been using the same worn out whiteboards for over 7 years. They were cracked and had sharp edges on them. Half of them barely even erased. My students always complained and hated using them during tasks.

I surprised my students with the new boards as soon as I received the package. They were shocked and so excited to start using the new boards. They truly enjoy using the boards and ask time and time to get them out for tasks.

Having these boards and supplies have allowed me to bring the engagement back into the learning. It provides me with excitement to teach again. I use the boards for everything in my classroom. Writing, math, social studies, science, and even reading.

It's because of people like you that allow us teachers to maintain and give back to our classrooms. Thank you so much!

From the bottom of my heart, &”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Crabtree

  • Expanding Readers in 2nd Grade

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

First off, I wanted to truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Having those who care for a classroom full of 2nd grade students and giving them an opportunity to learn and grow as readers is the best gift to get this holiday season. Books are a way for my students to escape, to be creative, and imagine themselves in a different world. It help grows their skills the more they read. Not having books that challenged my students was difficult for me. You help provide books that allows these students to challenge themselves.

My classroom uses these books throughout the day during independent read time, centers, small groups, read to self, and read to someone. My students love having a variety and books and genres to read from. So again, thank you so much for taking the time to give to my classroom project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Crabtree

My students throughout the day are up moving and transitioning. I want a space that allows them to relax and grow through audio comprehension. I want them to feel comfortable when listening to stories. I want to provide my students a space where they feel comfortable and excited to learn! I hope giving my students an area where they can separate themselves from the noise they can focus on the story and let their imagination run free. It's important for my students to feel comfortable in their learning environment. Being in another space other than their chair or carpet, allows another space to learn.
