Brain's Work Out
Funded Sep 6, 2023On behalf of myself and my young learners we want to thank you for making such a significant difference in our learning. With your generosity my students learned their alphabet letters using fun hands-on games. The ice cream cones were the perfect size for their little hands and allowed them to strengthen their fine motor skills. Using the alphabetic key locks supported my little learners hand eye coordination. All of which may seem small accomplishments but are detrimental skills to prepare for rigorous work in their academic years to come. Holding pencils, writing, cutting, and tracing are just a few of these skills.
My students practiced counting, cardinality, and shape differentiation with the use of the puzzles. Having the variety of choices from traditional puzzles to manipulative block puzzles kept their interest in learning math. My students used academic vocabulary when problem solving and most importantly they did so while using collaborative actions. Not only did my students learn academic subjects but they also practice team work, communication, and other social skills. The number and shape puzzles along with the fort building set provides them the opportunity to practice all these fundamental skills. We appreciate your support to our class and I thank you for the support you provide to teachers like myself.”

Funded Oct 11, 2023My students have fallen head over heels with the new materials your generous donations have provided for our classroom. We have used the Astrobright pages for arts and crafts, labels, and posters. We have also use the paper cutter along side to create these crafts. Which has reduced our prep time in half and made work much more eye catching. Allowing my students to be excited for their finished work.
Our scented markers have made whole group discussions a segment of the day that my student look forward to. I have also used the markers as incentives for my students to complete their work. I give them a star on the corner of the page and they look forward to guessing the scent. Which also encourages my students to try their best in order to receive these special scented stars. We greatly appreciate your support in providing essentials to our classrooms.”

Funded Jun 26, 2023With your help I have reorganized our classrooms resources and seperated items based on our needs each month. I have filled labels for our dramatic play area as well as our worksheets for every celebration and curriculum focus. This has allowed our class time to focus on our learning and less on the prep during our day to day.
We have also made great use of the Astrobright paper to create colorful and hands-on projects that we so proudly display in our bulletin board. "Work" has become fun and enticing for my students. It has also lended itself to peers communication about colors and degrees of bright and dark a color can be. Which have lead to color mixing lessons. All thanks to our bright pages. We appreciate your help and support in provided my classroom with essential.”

Funded May 11, 2023With your help we have created an organized technology area in which my students can practice responsibility, community building skills, and autonomy. You have helped my class in being prepared for a hard days work during centers and independent studies. With our new charging station we no longer have to take turns charging devices in groups we can simply charge all at the same time and use as needed without any obstacles.
My students feel very excited to have a role in their day to day activities. Being responsible of plugging in their own cables gives them a feeling of owner ship and charge. We appreciate you General Motors Corporation and your desire to assist out class.”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Your donations have made quite the quiet impact. As it is expected, my group of little 4 to 5 years old can carry loads of energy. The materials provided have allowed my students to focus on their academic review of math and language arts concepts by giving them an output to create something of their own. They have learned to work quietly and independently on their drawings. The colorful writing is tremendously eye catching which maintains engagement and curiosity.
With your help I have also provided my students with a learning tool in which they have learned that it is okay to make mistakes. Instead of giving drawing practice on a sheet of paper where students often feel defeated when they make mistakes. With the help of these drawing tablets my students have learned that if they can't get it right the first time it will be alright and they can try again by simply erasing they tablet. This has alleviated many shut downs from students who will often give up or get upset. We can't thank you enough!”

Funded Jan 6, 2023My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful easels you've provided our classroom with. They are not only eye-level to my students, but it provides a sturdy canvas to which they can focus on creating and building beautiful art. Rainy days are no longer an obstacle for us as we can take painting indoors and outdoors. We are currently learning all about insects, and we've taken the easels outside to paint the background of our garden by observing the plants from our patio and copying them. They've been asking to paint outdoors ever since. Thank you very much for your support and collaboration to bringing art into our classrooms.”

Funded Oct 11, 2022My students are enjoying the materials provided by your donations to create artwork. Our most recent piece was for Mother's Day. Students were able to create beautiful, flower and garden paintings with the sponges provided. many of my students made the connection between the stamps are use for their great work with the stamping process they used with the sponges. They loved getting messy when they had to press the sponge down. What was most exciting, was hearing their stories come to life as they explained what their painting meant. Thank you very much for your donations and support to my classroom.”

Engineering Made Fun
Funded Aug 10, 2022Your donations have assisted my center rotations in such an engaging way. My students enjoy building their own creations but more so finishing a replica from the picture cards. They feel so proud of themselves and as a teacher I'm always looking for ways to make students excited for learning. Best part of all is that they get to work on fine motor skills without it being boring or "too hard". The communication skills and use of vocabulary that has arised from their conversations is pure joy to me. Thank you for making such a big difference in these little's learning.”

Funded Sep 7, 2022I cannot begin to explain how having a clean and organized classroom can impact my teaching. It helps me focus my time and energy on my students and lectures. The easiest thing is usually to place things on my desk. However, with the filing containers and hanging folders I have the place and tools to keep my papers organized and at an accessible place. It has not only helped me but the teacher assistants who have their own small groups. It has also helped me get rid of my filing cabinet allowing me to have additional room for furniture pieces that students can use. Thank you very much for your support.”
