  • Bounce Our Day Away

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you for your generous donations! These yoga balls were a game changer in the classroom!! The children are required to stay in their seats all day long this school year. This is REALLY hard for a second grader to do. They need to be moving and up and changing activities.

The yoga have helped us stay in our seats while still getting our wiggles out. We are able to wiggle and bounce and get everything out while still focusing on our material that we are learning. They are learning so much better with these tools!

Thank you again! I really appreciate all of the help!”

  • Wiggling and Working!

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you for your generous donations! These wobble stools and yoga balls were a game changer in the classroom!! The children are required to stay in their seats all day long this school year. This is REALLY hard for a second grader to do. They need to be moving and up and changing activities.

The wobble stools have helped us stay in our seats while still getting our wiggles out. We are able to wiggle and rock and get everything out while still focusing on our material that we are learning. They are learning so much better with these tools!

Thank you again! I really appreciate all of the help!”

  • It's Time to Get My Teach On!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for the generous donations! With your help, I was able to reimagine my project to help this school year.

With the state of the world, we were not able to travel to visit the conference this year. I was, however, able to reimagine the project and get materials that would help us this school year! I was able to get storage bins to store all our materials. Highlighters for each child to have one of each color, since they can't share supplies. I also was able to get wobble stools to help get wiggles while they are staying in their seats all day. I also got a few books for us to read together to bring some excitement.

Though your donation wasn't used in the way you thought, I was able to reimagine the entire school year with your help! Thanks again!”

  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Because of your help, the children are able to each have a set of headphones to use with their devices! We are able to integrate technology without having to listen to everyone's computer at the exact same time.

When we closed in the spring, many of the children weren't comfortable with the technology that they needed to use to learn. We weren't prepared and ready to teach fully online. While starting in person this year, we are able to teach the children how to use the technology and websites now. When they are online, they will be more comfortable. This will ease the stress and fear of going online. The headphones help because everyone can work at the same time and be able to hear their device.

Thank you again! I really appreciate the help!”

  • Let's Bring Our Classroom Home!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

WOW! I can't imagine this year without these resources! The binders are packed full of materials necessary for the children to complete school at home. We are able to use the binders in class, they stay in their backpacks, and then they are comfortable with the materials when they are learning at home. We do home learning every Friday and these have saved us!

This gives them a place to store all their school materials without fear of them getting lost or ruined.

If we are ever required to teach fully online, the children will have already done resources to do school at home. We were able to put manipulatives, writing paper, and everything else we were missing last spring.

Thank you again! We appreciate you!”

  • Versatiles for Math Versatile Learning!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

We have loved having the Versatiles in our classroom. I love how engaging and fun the kids think that these are. They are begging to use them. I love letting them use them because they are practicing such important skills. I love how immediately they get feedback. They know if they did it right or wrong once they flip it over.

They think it is magic. When they flip it over, they get so excited to see the picture. They think it is so fun. Anytime the kids are learning, I love it. They love anytime they think they are playing a game!

Thank you again for your generous donations. We couldn't have done it without you and your generous donations. I love using these in my classroom and the kids love using them. Thank you so much!”

  • Kindles to Help Us Grow!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations! The kids have loved using these Kindles. We are able to do so much more differentiated learning since we have these. The children are improving so much. They are so excited when it is there turn to use them.

We are using the Kindles on our differentiated apps. They are working on reading activities that are on their level. It is helping them improve and get targeted instruction that is helping so much.

They love using a Kindle, something that not everyone as school has. They also love that they are easy to navigate. Touch screens are much easier for the students to navigate and use. They don't have to worry about a mouse or a touch pad.

Thank you again. We couldn't have had a successful classroom without your help.”

  • Let's Glow and Grow!

    Funded Aug 1, 2019

Wow!! This project helped bring to life the most amazing, content filled, glowing day!! You would not believe the excitement the children have when they walk into a room that is lit only by blacklight. On their desks, they have construction vests and fedoras that also glow! The smiles on their faces were HUGE! They couldn't wait to see what was going to happen that day. We had the best day! The kids thought they were just playing but in reality, they were learning and applying so much content knowledge.

School should be somewhere kids want to go, not somewhere they have to go. Thanks to you and your generous donations, we accomplished just that! I have a class full of second graders who are SO excited to see what I have in store for them next!”

  • Hot Dots and Hot Learning!

    Funded Oct 14, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. These materials have truly transformed our learning!

The kids love using hot dots. They beg to use them and are so excited when they get to! There were screams and yells when I told them we were getting them through DonorsChoose. We now have enough Hot Dot pens for half the class to use them at a time.

I love centers that can be used to teach concepts that feel like play. Hot Dots do just that! I also love the immediate feedback they receive when using them.

The room transformation supplies are going to be so fun! I can't wait to see their faces when they walk into our jungle room! They are going to have so much fun and learn so much!

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bergstrom

  • How Will We Learn Without a Pencil?!

    Funded Oct 25, 2019

Thank you again for your generous donations. Because of you, we are able to have the basic supplies that we need to succeed.

Children shouldn't have to worry about not having a pencil to write with and complete their work. I now have enough pencils that students are able to grab one when they need without any worry or stress. They know that I will have a pencil for them if they don't.

I also appreciate the chart paper. We are using it to make anchor charts when we learn a new skill. The children are able to contribute to the anchor charts. They love seeing something they helped create all year on the wall. It is also super helpful for them to refer to when they need help.

Thank you again for your help. These basic supplies really change the course of a school year.”

Students learn more than reading and math during the school day. They learn life skills to help them succeed. By having many different flexible seating options, the students are free to choose where they would like to sit. They learn to make smart choices about the seat to help them focus and succeed during the school day. This daily choice helps them learn to make smart choice later in their lives. These students are still little and aren't meant to sit in a chair all day long. They can't stay focused for very long without moving. While I do provide frequent "brain breaks", there isn't enough time in the day to get them moving as often as they need to and still teach them everything they need to learn. These different seating options will allow the students to move when they need and continue to learn. Flexible seating helps the students focus more during the school day. When the students are able to move while working their engagement increases. They are able to burn off any excess energy they have while keep their whole mind on the task they are working on. When I implemented a modified flexible seating, students sitting and laying on the floor, last year, I noticed the student's engagement and focus increased. Students were completing work quicker and were scoring much higher on things we were working on. This project will help me provide the students with multiple seating options to help all children find a place that will help them learn and succeed.
