  • (part 2) New Tables: Being on TOP of Our Learning!

    Funded May 2, 2018

Thank you so much for the generous donations to our project! Due to your generosity, we were able to receive a brand-new table that we were in dire need of! Since these tables can be costly, I have been waiting a few years to receive a new table that will last a long time. Therefore I am very grateful to have this project be funded! When I told my students that our project for a new table was funded, they were all so excited! They have been fed up with the squeaking and shaking of the old table because it was very hard for them to concentrate and I couldn't blame them for their frustrations! Again, we are very grateful for our new table and we hope that part 1 and part 3 of our New Tables Projects will one day be funded as well! Then we will have all brand-new great quality tables for our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Alberto

  • Mastering Math Skills

    Funded Apr 28, 2018

Our class GREATLY appreciates your generosity and we are so thankful! The moment we found out our project was funded, we all cheered and could not wait for our items to arrive! The students knew that they were going to be getting brand-new math puzzles that they have never used before and they were ecstatic, to say the least! I allowed the students to begin playing with the math puzzles right when the package arrived! I have already seen an improvement with their basic math skills from working with these puzzles. We have also been using the magnetic pointers and stripes for our sight words as well as math counters. Every items has gone to a great use and will be taken care of to last a long time!

Again, thank you so much for your donation to our project!”

  • Mid-Year Refresh For Our Classroom Supplies!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

My students and I could not be more appreciative with the generosity of those who have donated to our project! From the moment I opened the boxes with our items, we began to use them right away! The students were eager to start using the board again because they finally have new working dry erase markers! We have already used them in math and in language arts!

I am so happy to use the new magnetic clips for our posters. Now I am able to move them around the room with ease. I can place them anywhere the students are working to be able to refer to during small group or independent work. The same goes with the chart paper!

We also are very grateful for the laminator so now our posters and other things can last! The student even used the new markers on the laminated cards during math time!

Again, we greatly appreciate all of our new classroom items and from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Alberto

  • Working Our Way to be Great Readers!

    Funded Feb 25, 2014

My students and I could not be more appreciative with the generosity of those who have donated to our project! The students were so excited to begin reading the new books! For many months now, our classroom books have been breaking and falling apart. We were in need of new reading materials. The shouts of 'yay!' and 'wow!' coming from my students while I was opening the boxes of books were heart warming!

Since my classroom is on the smaller side, receiving a new book shelf and easel has allowed me to maximize our space for reading! Our new books have been placed in bins and nicely organized on the book shelf for the students to access with ease. The easel has allowed to me to teach in small groups on the rug during many of my guided reading lessons.

Again, we greatly appreciate all of our new classroom items! Due to your donations, I am able to provide my students with engaging reading lessons! I have already began to see my students improve their reading levels!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Alberto

My students are between the ages of 6 and 7. Though they are young, they act beyond their ages and seem to have missed out on the experiences a young child should have. I can tell that my students wish to just be kids and use their imagination. The students in my class and school are from a poor urban community that is exposed to violence and situations young children should not experience. Our school tries to provide our students with a positive and loving community for their learning experiences. Not only are my students getting an education, they are also learning how to be positive people in the world.
