  • Multi-Sensory Learning

    Thank you again for your generous monetary donations. My students are loving the new resources. As you know, I teach grades K-2 in a Fully Self-Contained (FSC) special education setting, and meeting my students needs both academically and social-emotionally is my priority.

    Since receiving the materials, the student's have been so eager to utilize them in the classroom setting. For example, for both the Rainbow Liquid Sensory Viewers and the Watch-It-Roll Calming Tube have been extremely helpful tools. In my classroom, I have students who need help regulating their emotions. With those two (2) tools alone, it has helped me teach them appropriate coping strategies and how to calm down from their triggers. Another example is the CVC hands-on activity and Phonics Flip book. It helps engage my students in building their phonemic awareness and vocabulary, while also helping with their reading fluency and prosody.

    My next steps, is to continue to use these tools to help engage my students in their lessons/activities, as well meeting their social-emotional needs.”

  • Preparing for Distance Learning/Hybrid Learning

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. Our class truly appreciates the support. Since this project has been funded, I have been able to use the second monitor to effectively optimize my hybrid-learning. In addition, with the printer, I am able to now print color copies for my students, readily at hand.

    As we enter 3rd Quarter, with the Omicron spreading, it is reassuring to know that I can make packets and teach with ease if and when we go to full distance learning (if necessary).

  • Flexible Seating

    Thank you so much for all of your generous offers. I am pleased to inform you that since I have received my wobbly chairs, I can now let student(s) have voice-in-choice with their seating arrangement. In other words, since the "one-shoe-fits-all" method does not work for everyone, and everyone learns in their own unique way, I am able to let students with learning disabilities and/or student's who cannot sit still for a long period of time, to wobble, lean, and move around in their wobbly chair vs. a traditional classroom seat. Wobbly chairs help me as I am fostering an environment where students feel empowered and encouraged to learn in space that is safe and comfortable for them.

    On behalf my 6th grade class and I, I would like to say thank you. Your support means the world to us. Thanks to you, I will now be able to find updated and engaging lessons for my students (whether face-to-face or 100% virtual learning). As said before, Teachers Pay Teachers is a great site that provides a variety of resources for teachers to help engage their students with both academics and social-emotional learning. With this project funded, I am now able to research fun and innovative new ways to teach my students the lessons/activities they need to align with their Common Core Standards.
