"You can pick up a ukulele and anybody can learn to play a couple of tunes in a day or even a few hours. And if you want to get good at it, there's no end to what you can do." -Joe Brown Ukuleles help facilitate music learning in a way that is enjoyable and engaging for Middle School students. Right now my Middle School General Music students are spending classroom time learning about the theory behind music and need the opportunity to begin creating music. Once I receive the ukuleles, they will be used for individual student song writing, as well as music and chord reading and analyzing. The tuners will be used to help students learn how to independently tune their on instruments. Ukuleles are an easy instrument to learn, which allows students to feel successful and build a passion for life long music making. It is my hope that having ukuleles in my music classroom will allow students to become excited about music and continue their newly learned skill throughout their entire lives.
