Technology Tools
Funded Dec 29, 2016We are so very thankful for the mice and headphones you generously donated to our classroom. This is the first year our kids each had chrome books to use in school. They were given to the 3rd grade students by our wonderful PTA. We began using our new technology within the first week of school, but very quickly began to notice that we had many students that had a very difficult time navigating with the thumb pad. Many of our students have special needs and receive physical therapy and occupational therapy, so using a thumb pad was a very difficult feature for them on the chrome books. Now that those students are able to use the mice that you all donated, they are able to use the chrome books correctly! It is so easy for them to use technology to help them learn!
We also have some students who have sensory issues. It helps them so much to be able to adjust the volume as needed with our new headphones! It also helps those students not listen to the noise that is surrounding them while they are on the internet because the noise is contained in the headphones. That is tremendously helping as to avoid distractions.
Our class is so excited about using the chrome books to help them learn! They are learning how to research and learn new things on their own. They are reading current events and using interactive sites to help them learn. All of this is now possible because we have the mice and headphones!
We are so appreciative that each of you decided to help our class. We have used these items in our class every single day and we are so thankful that it helps our kids enjoy learning!”

Research, Projects, and Real Life
Funded Jul 7, 2015Thank you so much to all of you! We are so excited about using our iPads in the class! When I first told my students that we have 4 brand new iPads to use in our classroom they were all cheering! They all wanted to begin using them as soon as they saw them! They have all agreed that it makes learning more exciting and every day they come in asking if they can use them!
My students are using the iPads in many different ways. We have downloaded some apps that the school recommends for learning. We use it as a center. We have reading, math, spelling, and vocabulary programs that have now become way more accessible to them now that we have the iPads. We also got some parent donations for iTunes gift cards and have added on some apps that are for reading comprehension, multiplication, and current events! We also use the internet to research and learn new things!
The students are so excited to learn on the iPads! They come to me everyday and tell me what they did and how much fun it was! They are learning to work together and learn from each other. They are so enthusiastic! They are able to learn so much more in such an exciting way.
