My students come from a small town with more than 80% economically disadvantaged students in the school district. 10% of my students have access to technology at home with internet access. In August of 2017 the community was affected by Hurricane Harvey. Many of our already struggling families were hit very hard by this event. My life skills students will use the tablets to access web and app programs to enhance their education and help them gain important technology skills. The curriculum used in the classroom has individualized lessons that students can access through the web based program. With access to the program through technology, my students can work on their lessons and appropriate technology usage through individualized lessons! The tablet stand would benefit my students with limited mobility access the devices many technology features.
