Recess is now mandated in our state. We must have 20 minutes of recess every day. With that, we only have one small playground and almost 900 students. Recess has been shown to increase concentration and attention spans for students! Students have always been given recess, but now being mandated, we are required to go outside for 20 minutes every day. But, most teachers do not have any outside equipment to use for the students to play with. We do have a small playground, but for many classrooms, that gets crowded. I am asking for some outside equipment that the students can play with. I am asking for jump ropes for those that would like to individual or double jump. I am also asking for various types of sports balls; football, soccer ball, and volleyballs, so that the students can organize impromptu games while outside. The various different balls, give them choices, as well as more than one game to be played while we are outside.
