  • Cleaning Supplies for Library

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you all so much for your kind donations. Keeping our learning space clean is super important for me. I have supplied our table bins each with a container of the Clorox wipes and the students wipe down their tables at the end of every library period. I use the Dyson two to three times each day to quickly vacuum our library's rug. You wouldn't believe how much dirt this thing picks up!

My students were so excited to see the new bottles of soap at our library's sink with new rolls of paper towels to clean off their hands when they get messy. Parent volunteers have started to clean up our library's shelves with the spray cleaners and the library has been looking amazing! The library is now freshly painted and is looking great!

Once again I'd like to thank you for your generous donations and I will post pictures soon.”

    With gratitude,

  • Easel for Library

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations. I was amazed at how fast this project was funded. We have been using our new classroom easel every day in the school library. Just this morning I was using the easel with our school debate team to brainstorm ideas for pro and con for the district's debate resolution. We have been inviting students up to the easel to record their ideas on classroom charts as well as manipulate magnetic letters. This easel is nice and big and makes displaying information easy for students to see. Thank you again so much!”

  • Carpet for School Library

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations. I cannot express how excited I am to be able to say that this project was fully funded so quickly. Our new carpet has arrived and students are loving it! The little colorful boxes on the rug help define student spaces and it is much easier to manage the class (especially the little ones) when students know exactly where to sit. The colors on the rug match the different colored tables I have and it makes it easy for me to call students from the red table to go directly to a red spot. This makes getting to the content quicker, and students are more engaged and have more time to shop for books.

Once again I would like to express how thankful I am for all of your kind donations. I will post pictures soon!”

  • Library Supplies

    Funded Sep 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations. I cannot express how excited I am to be able to say that this project was fully funded so quickly. Our school library is now up and running. The receipt printer was one of the first things I set up. I tape the receipts to the inside front cover of the books students check-out and now they know when their materials are due. This also makes it easy for us to see what book belongs to who if books get lost in the hallway or in the school.

I have utilized the color printer to print book cover art and placed it in frames around the library which has helped enhance the ambiance of our beautiful space. The color printer has also been beneficial to print student reports and send overdue notices to students and families. This has helped to ensure that our books are returned and are available to check-out for other students.

Once again I would like to express how thankful I am for all of your kind donations. I will post pictures soon!”

  • Teacher Computer

    Funded Aug 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind donations. I can't even begin to describe the impact that the new computer has had in my classroom. My school was fortunate enough to recently have received a small grant to purchase new SMARTboards, so I was able to connect the computer to the board to show students math equations and educational videos.

The computer has proved essential in this uncertain world where students may not know if school is in-person, or remote. I have been using the computer to Zoom with my classes when school is closes, as well as use it to connect to Google Classroom.

Furthermore, the computer has made it much easier for me to communicate with student families. I now have easier access to email and messaging apps such as Class Dojo where I can connect with parents and guardians.

Once again, thank you so much for your sincere generosity.”

  • Chromebooks for 4th Graders

    Funded Mar 11, 2021

Thank you all so much for your kind donations! I have received the Chromebooks and have set them up. The students were amazed at how generous all of you are and are very thankful for all that you do. I have created individual student accounts with Google Classroom and have taught students how to login and use the machines.

One exciting thing that we have done is we have video chatted with a famous author with Skype for Education. I connected a Chromebook to the SMARTboard and we were able to speak with a famous author about how she gets ideas for writing and publishes her books. Students came up to the Chromebook and were able to ask her questions and learned a lot about the publishing process.

One other thing that we are doing with the Chromebooks is that I am allowing students to use them during daily math lessons. The Chromebooks are able to test students abilities and then tailor instruction to meet their individual needs. Thank you all again so much!”

  • Help Teach Us to Read!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind donations! These F&P benchmark kits came in just at the right time for middle of the year testing. This time I was able to test my class in just two days as opposed to a month when all the teachers were sharing one kit. When I finished testing my class, I shared the materials with other teachers who also used the kit to test their class.

When teachers benchmark kids, it allows them to tailor reading instruction individually. The F&P kit gives teachers a range of scores from A-Z. Teachers group students based on ability and pull small groups to provide reading instruction on their level. Right now, I have four groups in my class. I intend to test my class again at the end of the year and will gauge the growth my students have made.

Once again I would like to thank you for your kind donations and sincere generosity.”

  • Help Fill Up Our Library

    Funded Nov 29, 2020

Thank you so much for you kind donations. Some of the books that I selected were no longer available, so I decided to select a few others that represent the diverse cultures of my students. I displayed the books out on the library windowsill and students were in awe of how the kids in the books look just like them.

My principal was very impressed and proud when she walked into my classroom and saw the books sitting high on display for all to see. She even became so inspired, that on world read aloud day, during Black Lives Matter action week, she visited my class and read a story aloud to my fourth graders. The students loved how all members of their school community share a joy for reading and culture.

In my classroom, I try to do a read aloud each day. Each book that I select has a specific lesson or theme. These books that were donated share the theme of diversity and acceptance. Students enjoy them very much and even want to take a few of them home!

I wish to thank you all again for your sincere generosity.”

  • Headsets for 4th Graders

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you all so much for your generous donations! My students were thrilled to each receive their own headset to use for remote learning. We are in-person some days of the week, and remote other days of the week, so I was able to hand each student their own headset in-person. Parents were very grateful when they found out as well. Many of my students live in small apartments with multiple children, all of whom are also involved in remote learning and video chatting at the same time as we are, so the headsets help my students focus on our class' meeting. They have also helped drown out background noise when the students are speaking into the microphones. Once again I would like to express my deepest thanks.”
