  • Addition To Our Growing Ensemble

    Funded Feb 1, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity you have shown our kiddos. Because of your donation, we will be able to have a solid musical experience and be able to achieve their musical goals and ambitions. We are respectful, responsible problem solvers and we are solving our musical instrumental shortage with one donation at a time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Music

  • Plug It In, Plug It In

    Funded Oct 5, 2022

Because of your generosity, our musicians have been able to have a voice in their own ensemble. Some directors do not consider a guitar as part of a "Concert Band" orchestration or set up, but I am a firm believer, that if you want to learn the thing I shall teach you the thing. The thing being pretty much any instrument that can be played.

When our kiddos opened up the box to their very own guitar, they were beyond excited and had to be told to quiet down a little. Some have even taken it as far as looking up guitar videos to their favorite songs to be able to learn them on their own. Our next go is to take it live and perform for staff and families.”

    With gratitude,

  • Viva Excelsior!

    Funded Nov 25, 2021

We graciously appreciate your kind generosity in choosing to help our Chiquoto's y Chiquita's have the right equipment.

With these beautiful blue music stands, our kiddos will be able to not only dress the part, but have it accented visually as well with these shiny blue additions.

We were also able to receive some sturdy upgrades for our daily rehearsals.

These black Wanger stands should stand the test of time, and support our rigorous rehearsals:) and future endeavors.

Thank you mucho's for everything you, do and continue to do for our cause and future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Music

  • Continuing To Greatness

    Funded Oct 2, 2018

We are beyond grateful of your generosity shown to us by your compassion and shared with us through your donations. We are a beginning band program going on the second year of inception, but with our late start and lack of instruments and materials, we are barely a year old, an infant in most eyes. When letting our kiddos know that our project was funded and better yet receiving the benefits, they were overjoyed. They couldn't wait to utilize our gifts and continue to our greatness.

With the Flute, Euphonium, and Trombone donations, our kiddos are able to start taking instruments home to practice. This further buys them into what we do and gives them ownership of what they create and the passion to continue. Those that are responsible enough to take the instruments home have shown an immense improvement in such a short amount of time that it is sparking an interest in others to not only join the band but for those already a part of the experience, to push themselves harder. With our reeds, we are able to continue to supply our chiquitos with the ability to play their woodwind instruments such as the Clarinet and Saxophones.

Our continuous progression and growth is our goal and in order to get there, we will move forward in the right direction. Our next project will incorporate our percussion and Drumline groups. We are lacking in instrumentation and what we have is worn out or missing parts and or accessories. We are preparing for parades and festivals and do not have enough to accommodate our ever growing ensembles. We hope to one day have a performing ensemble that will be able to express feelings, thoughts, and ideals. To be able to change moods, alter lives, and give an overall sensation of satisfaction for life and all that it has to offer. Music has the ability to move mountains and shape societies. We are molding and sculpting our future through these kiddos with our song. Let us do it together and watch in amazement of the possibilities unfolding.

Thank you from the musicians inside of all of us.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Music

  • Equipment for the Unequipped

    Funded Jun 28, 2012

With your generous contributions you have been able to provide supplies to students that have absolutely nothing. It has been a very difficult journey with students, friends and colleagues lost, but knowing there is an outlet helps our students express themselves through song.

Because of the reeds that were purchased my students are able to honk proudly as they continue their first year in beginning band. My clarinetists and saxophonists are able to produce when called upon with confidence, because there will always be a dependable reed available. You were also able to provide a stronger grade of reeds for the advancing student to keep pushing him or herself. With the mouthpiece brushes our mouthpieces can be cleaned properly and maintained for a longer period of time. With our Saxophone Pad Savers, our very limited number of Saxophones will last longer because the moisture will not rust and damage the instrument. By providing snare drum sticks our percussionist will be able to bang proudly and produce rhythms that come from their very souls on drum pads that can be brought anywhere.

Every little bit helps us get closer to the days when music and the arts mean something more. We teachers are few in numbers but overwhelming in our love of what we do. We mold minds into thinking and asking questions forever pushing themselves unto new limits, ever wanting more to better their lives and of those lives around them. With everything that your generosity has provided, we can create another much-needed outlet for these emotionally and musically starving children. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and through the music of our souls.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Music

My students live in a poverty-stricken, inner-city neighborhood in Arizona. Just making it to school can be a great deal of difficulty for some. However, once inside the school, our students are safe and ready to grow through learning and experience. My kids are the type to crack a joke or bust a move whenever the mood fits, but if you show them that you are truly there to support them, they will aim high and succeed with your guidance. At Sunland Elementary, our motto is "We do it right, and we do it right the first time." As simple as that may sound, it carries with it a great voice and impact. So in order for our Beginning Concert Bands to succeed, we need to follow the same creed. We are building a new culture of musicians and artists, humans with compassion, empathy and feelings and a way to express them.
