Funded Jun 3, 2016One again, Donors Choose has come through to save the day! Thank you all so much for you contributions and support! We were once again funded in record time and we could not be more grateful!
Our brand new color printer has been a big hit in the classroom. We were able to start printing out new labels for the classroom and some students were allowed to print out a cover for their end of year writing pieces. The most exciting thing we have been able to do with our new color printer is print out some colored pictures for our graduation activities.
We plan on printing out some fun signs for our end of the year activities such as field day, yearbook signing day and graduation. This color printer is not only essential to make all these end of year activities and assignments a little more special but also it is helping make my classroom more inviting and up to date. Thank you again!”

Funded Mar 11, 2016Thank you all so so much for your generosity and kindness! Yet again, our class has been so lucky to receive enough donations to fund our project and get the supplies we were in need of.
The children are over the moon with their new high level books! My little scholars have already gone through most of them and there is nothing that makes me happier than seeing my students enjoying their reading time. They are so eager to move on to another new book as soon as they finish the previous one!
The computer desk has been a huge improvement in our classroom as well. I can now move it around with my laptop on it to different parts of the room making it easier and more comfortable for students to come up to the front of the room and engage in the lesson. It also has more storage space inside the desk which has been helpful in being able to store all the teaching aids and books I use with the lesson neatly in one convenient area.
We also continue to use our bins to store our brand new high level books along with other testing books we have been using throughout the year. These bins have been such a help in keeping the classroom orderly and organizes amidst the testing season craziness!
All these materials have aided in being improvements in our classroom. We plan to continue to use these materials to keep our classroom an organized and high level functioning environment. Thank you all so very much once again!”

Funded May 29, 2015Thank You all so much for your generous donations! Thanks to all of you, we were able to update our classroom environment from a fun fourth grade classroom to a sophisticated fifth grade classroom. It looks phenomenal and the kids love it!
On the first day of school, my students walked in and were so excited to see their classroom transformed into a classy new setting for their graduating year. They remarked about how everything was brand new and they felt special with their new classroom for their final year. They were heard in the halls telling their friends from other classes about their new classroom and how everyone should come check it out!
All the materials donated have been such a help in the classroom. All the burlap has been used for the bulletin boards instead of paper and all the boarders have brightened up the room. The book baskets have allowed me to stock more books in the classroom for the year and helped keep them neat and organized. The children have realized that materials other than paper can be used in great ways. Also, the students have taken initiative to make sure that the book baskets are kept in great order and neat.
Thanks to all of you, I was able to do something special for my graduating class and update my classroom for my future students in the years to come. Thank you all so very much again.”

Disheveled And Disorganized! Help!
Funded Dec 21, 2014We are now outstandingly organized and its all thanks to YOU!
We received our book bins this week and they are beautiful! They not only help our classroom look more tidy and uncluttered but these sunny, yellow bins also brighten up our room. These bins have really been a much needed and welcomed addition to my classroom. I think I was more excited than the students when I walked into the office and saw the delivery waiting for me! They perfectly fit in the place of the old bins and store my students materials easily and conveniently. The students, needless to say, were elated when they saw the boxes in the room and were very excited with their new, bright, beautiful bins.
Thank you all for your generosity and support towards making our classroom the best it can be. Now every time my students go to their bins, they can be reminded that by paying it forward you can help others out more than you know.”

Funded Sep 23, 2014On behalf of my students and myself, I would like to thank all of you again for your generosity with this project. Thanks to all of you and the amazing site Donors Choose our project was fully funded and we now have two brand new air conditioners for our classroom! The students, needless to say, were elated at the sight of the air conditioners being delivered to our classroom. Some children even wanted to volunteer to help install our air conditioners! They also all agreed that the classroom would now be more comfortable and were happy that they would not have to sit through a hot school day. We happened to get our air conditioners delivered in the beginning of October, so there were not many warm days, but the children were hoping for just one more so we could put our new air conditioners to use!
With the addition of the air conditioners, the class has been able to fully enjoy the classroom experience. Even though we received them when the warmer days were mostly over, the fact that the air conditioners were physically in the classroom gave the students reassurance and satisfaction that they would not be sticky and hot on a warm, humid day.
As for my paraprofessional and myself, we had a sense of relief that we would now have the air conditioners and would not have to go through lesson after lesson with a classroom of uncomfortable and unfocused students.
Again, I would like to thank you all for your very generous donations. More importantly, I would also like to thank you for helping me teach my students a very valuable life lesson. This project went beyond just acquiring classroom air conditioners. The whole class was involved throughout the Donors Choose project and it became our little class project as well. The students were eager every morning to hear about the progress of the project and delighted with every donation we received, bringing us closer and closer to our goal and closer as a classroom family. This project taught my class a lesson in generosity and kindness. It showed them a first hand account of how helping out, even in the smallest form, makes a difference in the bigger picture.”
