Second grade (in my humble opinion :) is the best grade in the Preschool/TK-16/Post-Doc trajectory. We are 22+. 22 students plus a teacher and some amazing educators who join us sometimes daily! Our class, including me, comes together from across the world. We receive Title I funding from the federal government. We all come from and live in a variety of home environments and arrangements. Our languages, favorite things to do, and levels of support are all very different. Our student-led and student-centered class mission statement is: We are second graders and like lions we roar! Whether in class or on the playground or anywhere, we use teamwork. In our different languages, we say and do kind things. We work hard to learn what we can't do "Yet!" No matter what, we know we can all feel of our feelings."
