One area my students struggle the most with is listening comprehension and speaking skills. As a second language learner myself, I know first-hand how nerve wracking it is to try to overcome learning a new language and having the confidence to speak to native peers. I'm requesting a class set of headphones, splitters and a class speaker so that I can set up a listening station. At this station, students will be able to listen to stories or practice listening to audio conversations to boost their listening and speaking confidence. In my classroom, we practice listening comprehension and speaking tasks daily. Although all students have Chromebooks, we do not have headphones. The addition of this technology would give my students a much-needed boost of practice in the areas of listening and speaking.
