  • Speak Up!

    Funded Oct 5, 2023

I cannot thank you for your generous donations. My students will benefit so much from all of these hands on materials! Many of my students are in wheelchairs or have other severe mobility issues. Having these items handy will improve the quality of everyone's day.

Without donors like all of you so many of our students would go without such great materials to benefit from throughout their days!”

    With gratitude,

  • Pickleball: its Kind of a Big Dill!

    Funded Jan 27, 2019

I cannot describe how much my students are enjoying their new pickleball sets. We have been playing all summer, both inside and outside. We are learning sportsmanship and how to follow the rules as they apply to our new sport.

This has helped my students increase their self esteem as well as their physical activity. Many of my students suffer from physical handicaps, this sport has enabled them the ability to be a part of a team with their friends and peers. Along with the students, the staff are enjoying learning to play this wonderful sport.

As our skills develop we look forward to mastering this sport and challenging our friends. We are even practicing to play against some of our teachers and administrators around the building.l”

  • Performing Arts Needs Instruments!

    Funded Dec 1, 2018

Words cannot properly describe the joy these brand new instruments have brought into our class. My students and the staff throughout the building are genuinely happy to participate in our musical activities using these new instruments. For example, we are currently learning to perform the song We Are the World for a school wide multicultural day event. Everyone is very excited to use their new bells, rhythm sticks and the piano to replicate such a famous song.

When my students saw the boxes arrive, their facial expressions represented their excitement. They were all so happy to lend a hand in opening the boxes and organizing our new materials. Performing in front of a class or even the entire school can be a very nerve racking experience. These items have helped to increase many of my students confidence in standing up in front of their peers and teachers.

Our next steps will revolve around our school wide multi cultural day, as well as our annual school talent show. Several students have expressed a strong interest in playing the piano for a solo performance. My students find great enjoyment in performing, these items have helped to motivate and push them to try even harder!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gilbert

  • EaGeR tO LeArN!!

    Funded Dec 18, 2014

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity towards my students. The resources you provided have given my students many learning opportunities. We have been using our scholastic newspapers for many different reasons. My students are using them for their reading comprehension and the accompanying activities. Having two different levels has been even better for the kids. Because they are on such different cognitive levels, having the option to use the lower level is very helpful. My students are doing research projects and reports based on the articles in their scholastic news.

The box sets of books have been amazing. We have studied many different genres of literature. To be able to have these non-fiction books as classroom resources has helped me to challenge my students even more. All of my students are benefiting from our new library.

I go to work happy everyday. Its such a great feeling to know I love what I do. The only thing I love more are the kids. As I write this I am having a hard time referring to the kids as my students; I always say my "kids". Again, I cannot thank you enough. The materials will continue being used and helping to challenge my kids to grow.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gilbert
