  • Classroom Makerspaces: Boost Creativity and Critical Thinking Skills

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We were not able to get the cabinet but instead were able to get more materials for a makers space. We got materials that ranged from chargers for their iPads and computers, stem materials and lab materials. These materials have been so impactful in our students learning. We have been able to complete more activities and students have been able to use materials in all of their classrooms. We can't thank you enough for your support and generosity. To know that their are people who care enough about our students to invest in their education is a gift in its own.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mac

  • Electronics Only Works When They Are Charged!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Due to normal wear and tear we had computers but we're lacking chargers due to cord breakage. We also didn't have proper storage to keep them safe and protected while not in the building. The lack of cvs charges and storages caused the computer to not be as beneficial as they could be because they were breaking or not charged.

Now that we have a computer cart are computers are properly stored and organized. We also have chargers to replace those damaged and iPad chargers to also charge the iPads.”

  • Welcome to the Road Tables!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

These tables have allowed our students to work collaboratively in a setting that supports and encourages engagement. The students have loved how close and together they are and how much more space the classroom now has. They also love that the tables allow more space for posters and work without having to go on floor or risk desk separating.

Thank you for the warm, wonderful and creative environment you have helped create. The students are excited to come to class and take pride in their classroom. They are excited to show their classroom off.”

  • Education Access For All: Tablets Are The New Pencil

    Funded Jan 13, 2022

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your donations have changed our students lives by allowing them access to their education. This year, Science used a curriculum called Amplify. With this, students needed the ability to access everything online and most of the DOE tablets restricted this access. These computers have allowed students to not only access the curriculum, but gave given our special needs students the accommodations they need. Some of our sped students were struggling using the DOE iPads since they were not supplied apple pens or keyboard. These computers have made it easier for the to access their education.”

  • Forgo Traditional Learning- the Future is 3D!

    Funded Feb 15, 2018

From the bottom of my heart thank you for your kindness. With this new technology, students were able to bring their ideas to life and showcase their creativity. As we try to incorporate more STEM activities in the classroom, the 3Doodler pens give students a chance to create their own models to better understand and elaborate on many complex concepts during their classroom teaching. In the future, we plan on using these pens to create atomic models to helps better understand the atomic theory, create body systems to better understand our body systems and how they function and to create monuments to better understand weathering and erosion.”

    With gratitude,

  • Building Literacy Bridges in SCIENCE! Stress Free

    Funded Nov 15, 2017

Imagine being told you need to read a book but it is in a language you don't speak. Imagine the frustration you would feel and fast you look to give up. This is the daily struggle my students go through everyday. Although all of our text books are in the proper language to fit the students needs, they are not at the right level. Majority of my 7th grade students read on a 5th grade level or below, making their 7th grade level textbooks a useless resource. While many would argue that is why we have the Internet, that is easier said than done. As I teach in a low income neighborhood in a Title 1 school, the school does not have enough computers to fit the need of our students, and our students do not have enough experience with the to know how to use them beneficially.

This is why "Everything You Need to Ace Science in One Big Fat Notebook: The Complete Middle School Study Guide" was such a important resource and tool for my classroom. The layout of the book emulates a middle school students notebook. This creates a welcoming demeanor that invites students to use them as the layout is familiar. This resource is easily digested and summarized: critical ideas highlighted in neon colors, definitions explained, doodles that illuminate tricky concepts in marker. Mnemonics for memorable shortcuts, while quizzes to recap it all.

Since using these resources I have seen higher engagement with my students. They are eager to use the books and enjoy exploring what they call "the science comic book". I have that my special education students (some who average a second grade reading level) are excited to read and gaining knowledge through their literacy. Due to this success it was no surprise excitement spread and students from other classes have been borrowing and enjoying the books as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mac

The 3Doodler is the world's first 3D drawing technology. With the ever-changing technological world, the traditional way of teaching is that it is not linked to advancing the students’ conceptual ideas and practices especially those with learning disabilities. In science, all students benefit from inquiry-based learning that allows for “sense-making”. When students participate in “sense-making” they are understanding the world by creating, using, exploring, and questioning scientific knowledge or concepts; we give students a voice to question all and ask "why?". I have seen the most disinterested and disengaged students come alive when given the opportunity to question the norm to try new technology. Students are often bored with traditional classroom materials and are desperate for cutting-edge mediums and tools that they see on the internet. The modern technology of 3D pens integrates and blends math, science and art in a user-friendly, efficient and visually appealing way; these 3Doodler pens will help with the integration of innovation, science, and creativity. Instead of student simply drawing an atom, they can create a 3D model that allows them to explore the ins and outs of that atom. While building and creating models, students are also making connections to the "real-world" and the possibilities of various jobs. Let's help spark curiosity in the classroom together.
