  • Reading "On My Honor!"

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

I was excited to start teaching at a new school this year. With that came the opportunity to decide which books I would like to teach in my classroom. One of the books I chose was On My Honor. The book is such a great lesson/teaching opportunity for students this age.

I was excited about teaching this book, but nervous because I didn't have any copies of it and didn't know where I would get the funds to purchase them. A colleague suggested writing a Donor's Choose grant, so I did.

When this grant was approved, it was so awesome. I was elated to be receiving 36 brand new books. I was more elated to be receiving books that I knew would make a mark on my students. When the books came, my students noticed the crispness of their new pages and they noticed that the books were hard to open at first, as a lot of new books are. They noticed the shiny cover on the book, then they noticed the Newbery Medal. They thought the books were special. I think the books made my students feel special as well. Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wirfs

  • Calculate the Possibilities

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

I use technology daily in my classroom. Technology can engage every type of learner - whether it be the student who is gifted and talented, the student with special needs or learning disabilities, the "average" student, or the student who is completely unmotivated to work. Students need to learn to stay caught up with the evolution of technology in the world today and having it readily accessible and at their fingertips every day will help them do so. Your generous contribution to the technology integration in our classroom makes that more possible. Thank you so much!”

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our "Techies in the Classroom" Donor's Choose Project! Your thoughtfulness had made a great impact on our class and my students. My students have had the opportunity to use and engage with these new chrome books, computer mice, and headphones. The supplies you contributed in donating are educational, meaningful, and add to our curriculum. They also enhance the possibility of reaching our classroom goal of one to one technology for all students. Thank you again!”

  • Books for Brains

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our "Books For Brains" Donor's Choose Project! Your thoughtfulness had made a great impact on our class and my students. My students have had the opportunity to read, study, and engage with these books, comprehension folders, and readers theaters boxes. The supplies you contributed in donating are both educational and FUN and add to our curriculum and our classroom library. They open doors by providing info on topics we study in class in an entertaining way.”

  • Chromebooks for Classroom!

    Funded Nov 28, 2016

We use technology daily in our classroom. It can engage every type of learner. Students need to learn to stay caught up with the evolution of technology in the world today. Your generous donation has put us one step closer to making this a possibility. We are that much closer to having it at our fingertips because of your thoughtfulness. Thank you for your willingness to contribute to our cause for Chromebooks For Classroom! You have put a smile on the faces of these students and opened the door to many more possibilities for them!”

  • Active Bodies, Active Minds

    Funded Sep 21, 2016

Everyday when it is time for recess, my students get so excited! They have a hard time deciding which activity to do when they go outside. Deciding between badminton, croquet, basketball, wall ball, ladder toss, and lawn darts gives them so many options! We can now have organized PE games with variety and the students have expanded their knowledge of different activities. They love it!

They are also proud of themselves because they were the ones who helped write this grant. We sat down as a class and wrote it together, so it was something the accomplished as a class, helping them become closer as a class and a team.”

  • Chromebooks For Classrooms

    Funded Oct 21, 2015

Our classroom uses technology daily and usually it's a struggle to make sure each student has access to the chrome books the way he/she needs. With your generous donation and contribution, our class is one step closer to having this technology one to one. The students are motivated and even excited to do their work when the technology is at their fingertips. They are learning to stay caught up in our world and are learning to function at the technological speed that the rest of our world functions at. Thank you again for making this possible for them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wirfs

  • Chromebooks For Classrooms!

    Funded Feb 6, 2015

When my students found out that we got a new chrome book for our classroom, they were elated! They love technology and thrive on it daily! We use technology multiple times a day and having it accessible at our fingertips makes it so much easier to do this.

Many thanks go to the donors who so generously made this project a reality. Your impact will allow students to further their engagement in our classroom community and help them stay caught up with our ever-changing technological world. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,
