  • Starting with a Clean Classroom

    Funded Oct 17, 2024

Thank you for contributing to these supplies. The diaper genie is a class-bathroom game changer! Students who have had adverse responses to the toileting process with pull-ups are given a little more relief from the stress. And the teachers can effectively clean up messes without too much time lapsing between prompts and responses. Baby wipes now live at each learning station, so small groups are not interrupted by a teacher-dash to the bathroom for clean-up supplies. The broom and dustpan allow quicker intervention between the food on the floor and the young student wanting to eat it.

These items may seem small and simple, but they make a huge difference in maintaining our learning space and minimizing the spread of germs. Thank you again for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Douglas

  • Sensory Regulation Tools

    Funded Feb 17, 2022

THANK YOU for your contribution to my classroom. As a special education teacher, creating an environment that caters to the diverse developmental needs of each student can be quite challenging. It often involves creatively establishing non-traditional centers, regulation strategies, and visual cues to facilitate school-based tasks. This task becomes particularly daunting when relying on the limited budget of the $250 classroom fund provided at the beginning of the year.

Sensory tools play a crucial role because many students with developmental challenges struggle to regulate their emotions, mental processes, and physical needs, especially when faced with challenging tasks. We can all empathize with those moments when we're at work, and we'd rather relax on a beach. The stress and discomfort that arise with an influx of tasks can be difficult for some to manage.

These sensory tools go beyond providing visual enjoyment and tactile play. They empower my students to choose what they need for comfort, calmness, and safety. Having access to these materials creates an environment of trust and stability. This foundation allows them to center themselves when faced with more challenging concepts, fostering the ability to move forward with confidence. We would not be able to do so without your attention and support.”

  • Tools for Socioemotional Development

    Funded Dec 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your support with this project. Anyone who works with neurodivergent persons can empathize with varying sensory experiences. It’s possible to learn together with flexible seating, self-soothing options, and functional fidgets. Thank you again for your contributions to calm, self-awareness, and academic endurance.”

  • Tech for Independent Learning Station

    Funded Dec 11, 2022

Our class each now has a new set of headphones for each of them. This will expand our independent work opportunities and reduce distractions. The teacher tools will greatly help me create better instructional sets and provide ease with visual cueing. Thank you so much for your contribution. We are every excited to increase our learning with these tools.”

  • Using All Senses in Our Centers

    Funded Dec 15, 2021

Your support for this project is more than appreciated. When having to adjust to our new classroom environment, support for physical and sensory needs has been limited. These items will create more comfortable places to work and increase our engagement time at the table. Thank you for the "wiggle room" you have granted our students by supporting this project.”

    With gratitude,

  • Hands-On Learning Tools

    Funded Dec 11, 2021

I cannot wait to enjoy the excitement of our students when they watch us unbox these materials. Our independent work stations are going to be colorful, motivating, and engaging thanks to the generosity of all of you. I am immediately working on bigger learning experiences for the second term. Your support helps lay a strong foundation for our development. Thank you.”
