Sensory Shields for Safety
Funded Feb 4, 2025Unfortunately, we were unable to get the tents as originally planned. Instead, we used the funds for alternative nap-time support. Our students can each use a 3- or 5-pound weighted blanket, our weighted stuffed animals, chewy necklaces or lava lamp timers for nap time. These items help our students with calming and self-regulation during "Quiet Time." It's not required that everyone sleeps. It's only necessary that they find something soothing and calming to reset from our high-energy learning period.
Without your support, I would have found these items nearly impossible to obtain on my own, and the district would have taken over a year to fund them. Your contributions bolster our efforts in early intervention sooner.”

Ms. Douglas

Funded Dec 18, 2024Thank you for your generous support in providing sensory tools for our pre-kindergarten classroom. The weighted items have become invaluable resources, especially for our students with special needs, aiding them in self-regulation and enhancing their readiness to learn.
These tools have significantly improved our students' ability to focus during academic tasks, participate safely during playtime, and relax during rest periods. By helping to bridge the gap between sensory dysregulation and active learning, these resources have fostered a more inclusive and supportive environment.
Your contribution has not only enriched our classroom but has also played a crucial role in the early development of our scholars. We deeply appreciate your commitment to our students' well-being and educational journey.”

Bring the Drama!
Funded Feb 4, 2025Thank you for bringing the joy of dramatic play to our pre-K classroom! Your support has provided students with special needs the opportunity to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. These materials have sparked creativity, encouraged social interaction, and, most importantly, enhanced their ability to build vocabulary and communication skills in a way that feels natural and exciting.
Dramatic play is a powerful tool for our students, allowing them to explore real-world scenarios, practice social-emotional skills, and develop adaptive learning strategies. With your generosity, they are more engaged in role-playing, storytelling, and interactive dialogue, which strengthens their language development and confidence. Your kindness has made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for your support!”

Funded Aug 23, 2023Thank you for your contribution to this project. These small items provide great detail in design for students who benefit from visual and verbal prompts and reminders. The colored tape has made a lot of boundaries clear for our non-verbal students. They help identify the individual centers for students and safety boundaries that should not be crossed during class.
All self-contained teachers would love an endless supply of laminating sheets, erasable pens, and dry-erase markers. All supplies donors give go a long way and are entirely used to dry by our class. Thank you again for contributing to our needs and enhancing our learning experiences.”

Sensory Tools for Success
Funded Aug 15, 2023Thank you for providing these items for my classroom. These items have been useful in enhancing many projects and centers around our classroom. The wiki sticks are great with writing activities as they help create flexible tactile support for those with mobility and sensory challenges. The pillows can be found in every corner of the classroom and become immensely popular during quiet time. The sensory fidgets have been very useful in helping the students learn new self-regulation skills and building on their abilities to self-advocate. Many take these skills for granted. For our group, these items make these skills much more accessible. Thank you again for your contributions.”

Funded Nov 27, 2023This project has made my classroom accessible to many students with varying physical challenges and support needs. Gathering in a large group is one of the most difficult skills for some of our scholars. It is one of the first of many adaptive skills that can be taken for granted. Physical comfort and stability are our first line of support for this skill. Having multiple seating choices without excluding anyone from their peers is a great help.
Sometimes, our seating preferences change with our mood. One scholar loves the wiggle chairs when he is active, but he will engage from the lower fold-up soft seats on medication treatment days. Our class welcomed a new student with mobility challenges. We were grateful we had seats that accommodated his needs from the carpet and during table activities. When others visit, it is easy to create a welcoming space by allowing personal needs to be met.
Your donation has contributed significantly to our space and supports all the students with different needs who visit and learn with us. Thank you again for your support.”

Funded Sep 1, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! Thanks to your contributions, we now have a new HP 8010 color printer that will enhance the learning experiences for my pre-K students every day. This printer opens doors to a world of creativity and color, allowing me to bring vibrant learning materials into our room that truly engage young minds and help make new concepts stick.
With this printer, I can create colorful worksheets, visual aids, and learning games that spark curiosity and excitement. My students learn best through hands-on and visually stimulating activities, and this tool is already making a difference in how they explore, understand, and enjoy our daily lessons. The ability to print in color also means I can create personal, engaging portfolios for each student, which their families can cherish for years.
