My students are second graders from many walks of life. Some go to the public library on a regular basis with their families. Others have never been to the public library. Most of my students have parental support at home, but some go home and struggle to find someone to help them read, and complete their homework. My students come from a small rural area and have many different interests that range from farming to dirt bike riding. Our school is a K-2 elementary school that includes English Language Learners as well as students who receive free and reduced price lunch.
