Rockstar Readers Need a New Library
Funded May 10, 2017Thank you so much for believing in my project, and for supporting it so much that it was able to come to life! My students were so tired of the books in our classroom library that were old, or too hard for them to read. In the few weeks since this project was funded, I have seen a huge shift in the reading habits of my students. They come in the classroom each morning and eat breakfast. As soon as breakfast is done, they go to the library, plop down on a beanbag, and read a book. Most students will spend at least half an hour in the library working on various reading skills. When they finish other classwork, they go get their books and continue reading! It has been amazing watching them blossom in the past few weeks! Thank you for sharing in my vision!”

Funded Feb 14, 2017It really means a lot to me that you were able to envision this project so much that it inspired you to fund it! These items have helped my students in the classroom, and around the school, in so many ways! Each student in the room was given a Ziploc bag with their personal items in them.. Everyone received a toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, bar of soap, and deodorant. These items went along with a hygiene book we have that the children really seem to enjoy! We used the book to go through each item and what it is used for. Students no longer have to be embarrassed about not being able to brush their teeth at home because they can do it at school if they have a body odor, they can easily wash and put on deodorant so they do not get teased by others. Aside from personal hygiene, this project has helped us teach some students how to do a load of laundry, an important life skill that is not always taught to my students at home!
There are 7 students in the classroom who have benefited from this funding, but other students and teachers in the school have come to me in search of items for their students as well. What is left will be put in the care closet for all students throughout the school to access as needed.”

Funded Dec 24, 2016Thank you so much for your donations to my classroom! This project has helped make my classroom more accessible for my students! Some before pictures were included to show the transformation in the room. Students were sitting on pillows to raise them up a little higher, and rested their feet on stacked boxes. The cushions and step stools have helped with comfort as well as safety! Pillows and stacked boxes, while the best solution using what we had, were unstable. The Velcro dots helped in creating centers and adapted books for students to use. The biggest hit in the room, and what made the biggest difference in the classroom was the chair back pockets. They have really helped my students be more organized, and they gave them more room to be able to work. These items will help make a smoother end to the school year, and they will get great use next year as well”

A Centered Education
Funded Sep 6, 2016Because of your generosity, my students have materials they need to learn. The color ink and laminating pouches have been instrumental in allowing me to create so many learning games and activities. I have been able to put together file folder games, matching activities, and adapted books to assist in reading, and puzzles for math. Because of some of the reading activities I have been able to put together, several of my students have already tripled the number of sight words they can read because the games keep their attention! The glue, glue sticks, and crayons have helped with so many art projects, as well as daily work.
The package was delivered the day after the project was funded. I had just told my students we were going to be getting these resources donated and they were very excited! When the box came so fast though, they were in awe! They assumed it came fast because the donors knew how much we needed the materials. In a way that is true! I am still in shock of the generosity of strangers in funding projects at my school. I would like to thank all of my donors, friends, family, and those of you I will never meet. It means the world to me that you believe in my students and want them to succeed as much as I do! From the bottom of all our hearts, thank you!”

Mrs. P.
