  • Help My Students Love To Read!

    Funded Apr 25, 2017

I cannot thank you enough. The kids are so excited to read Hoot. They are thrilled to be reading a book that has a setting in the state they live in! The stories that they read in our basal reader are set in other states and sometimes talk about snow, which they know nothing about. Living in Florida we don't get snow! They are also really excited to read about saving things. This year we really ramped up our recycling program with our 5th graders being in charge of it. So saving the Earth and the animals that come with it is important to them. They're ready to read! We will also be watching the movie so that they can see the differences reading a book and watching the movie are. Then we will discuss those differences and talk about whether the movie is better or if they like the book better! I can't wait to have the in depth discussions we will have! Thank you all so very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. MacGregor

  • Help my Students have any Book at Their Fingertips!!

    Funded Nov 14, 2016

Thank you so much for showing an interest in my students learning. They have started using the Kindles and they are in love! This allows them to read the books they are interested in that might not be in the library or readily available to them. I really appreciate the fact that you took time out of your day to help my students.

They have been taking advantage of the lovely weather outdoors as well. We have been taking the Kindles outside with us so that they can read outside!

With the budget cuts in schools, adding technology to my classroom is difficult. Thankfully we have gracious donors like you to help students achieve greatness. I now have students who are begging to use technology to read. This is fantastic! I have told my colleagues how using this technology has made a difference in my students love for reading and for their growth in reading. Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. MacGregor

Welcome to my project page. Thank you for visiting. I've been teaching for 12 years. I've taught at all levels. Right now I am teaching 6th and 8th grade Intensive Reading as well as 6th grade ELA. Lincoln Memorial Middle School is a Title 1 school located in FL with wonderful children. It is really something to go into work each and every day to help these children grow with their learning. The students come from all types of backgrounds. Some have parents who can't help them with homework because they don't speak English or some have parents who have to work two jobs to help make ends meet. All of my students know that they can come to me with any problems and they all know that I will help with anything they need. We are all teachers who teach for the outcome here at Lincoln Memorial Middle School!
