  • Folders for Fundamentals!

    Funded Jul 19, 2022

I cannot thank you enough for your support with our folders for our 6th graders. These have been such a saving grace this year. We were able to make copies over the summer of the things we needed them to have and we put them into the folders for them before school started. Now when we teach about the topic that is already in the folders, we just have to direct them to the page that is in the center. We don't lose class time with them taking notes as it's all right there for them.

The students were also thrilled as they can use these folders in school and then again at home when they have homework to do.

The parents were also thankful as it was one less thing they had to purchase for their student this year. It lightened their load a little bit.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. MacGregor

  • Team Sports for Team Building and Success

    Funded May 19, 2022

I really appreciate the support you have given for our sports teams! The kids were so excited to see the soccer balls, footballs, and volleyballs! The coaches were so thankful for the support as well.

We are getting ready to start training for our fall sports and the kids are so excited to be able to use the equipment. For our kids this is a big deal. They don't get to use brand new stuff often! Our equipment in the past has come from the nearby high school. We get their hand me downs, so this was a huge thrill for the coaches and our players.

We can't wait to get the season started!”

  • Shoot and Spike With Nets and Carts

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so much for helping our students have the materials they need for volleyball and basketball. Our girls team won first place in our district last year and I know they're excited to start up again in the fall. Having our students participating in team sports is so important at this age.

Students need to feel that they are a part of a team or a part of something, and these kids get that need taken care of with our sports teams. This age group also needs to be active and out playing rather than spending the time inside on video games. With our school's ability to offer sports programs for them to participate, we keep them off video games and out of trouble at the same time.

    Thank you so very much!!”

  • Peace and Quiet With Ear Buds

    Funded May 4, 2022

My students and I cannot thank you enough for helping us with these earbuds. They are going to come in so handy in this next school year. The other 6th grade teacher and I have figured out a way to keep them in our classrooms so that they don't get lost. The students will be able to concentrate better and listen carefully to the stories that they will be reading. This will also help out the ESOL students tremendously as they need to use them more because they are still learning English.

This is going to be an amazing help this upcoming school year and I know that the students will benefit enormously from having these in the classroom!

    Thank you so very much!”

  • Readers Rise With Esperanza Rising

    Funded Feb 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your support of my students with the book Esperanza Rising. The students are loving it. They've been able to do a lot with the novel as well. They've mapped out the characters and talked about how Esperanza's life has changed from going from living in Mexico to living in the United States. It has been good for them to read about someone who went from having everything to having nothing. Some of my students can relate to having to leave everything behind when they move. It's been a great novel for them to read and I look forward to reading it with my future classes as well. Thank you for your support.”

  • Success with Supplies

    Funded Feb 18, 2022

Thank you so much for helping my students continue to be successful in class with the supplies. The pencils and paper are always a need in middle school! We are getting ready to do the state writing test and they are continuously writing essays for practice. The pencil sharpener replaced one that I have had for my entire teaching career! So that is nice now that the students can just sharpen without the sharpener eating their pencils.

The chart paper was not available so I had to replace them. I was able to replace them with candy that I use as rewards for students when they do a great job with their practice essays. So far I've used half of the candy! Which means they are doing a great job!

I appreciate all the help with my classroom as it is hard to keep up with the demand of the supplies that these students need!”

  • Rewards for Reading

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

I cannot thank you enough for helping me keep my students motivated! This is an amazing opportunity for them to get caught up to the grade level they are supposed to be on. The students start to lose interest this time of year because they are getting burned out. When they saw the snacks arrive, they were thrilled. I've already had 12 students who got combos and were overjoyed with the items they got to choose from.

The students gave me the ideas for the snacks and prizes and were so happy when the project was funded. They now have new motivation and hopefully will be able to get caught up on their reading level that they won't have to be in Intensive Reading in high school.

Again, thank you so much for supporting my students and my classroom! I appreciate it so very much and so do my students.”

  • Help Me Show Students They Can Beat the Street

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

I appreciate that you have supported my classes. This book is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to read it with my 8th graders. This book is a major life changer. I read it before I decided it would be a great choice for my Intensive Reading classes. I know this book will engage them and hopefully change their mindset.

My students are children who will definitely identify with the people in this book. They are growing up in the same type of community. This book will show them that there is a way to a better life. I am hoping that this book will have some of my students forming a pact with each other to make it like the 3 men in the book did.

Again, I cannot thank you enough for helping me put this book into my students hands!”

  • Getting Fit in Middle School

    Funded Dec 11, 2021

This has been an amazing addition for our students. The medical academy uses it for classes and our sports teams use the bands and the bench for strength training. We also have a before and after school club that meets and the students work out. Even the girls who have been using the materials said that it's been amazing and they've seen gains in how much they can do. The students are really loving being able to stretch before games and to lift on days they don't have games.

The other nice thing is, they can see gains in themselves which helps with their confidence levels.

I cannot thank you enough for helping our students work out!”

  • Help Us Have a Winning Basketball Season

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

I was so thrilled to see that our project was funded. The players were amazed and so excited to have the new equipment. Our girls team is halfway through the season and undefeated. The boys team is also halfway through the season, but have lost one game. Having these weighted balls will help them get better and stay successful. I know the coaches were thrilled to have the new equipment as they haven't been able to have new equipment for a few years. This is awesome and I am so happy that you chose to support our aspiring athletes with your donations! I can't thank you enough and I know our players can't either!”

Welcome to my project page. Thank you for visiting. I've been teaching for 12 years. I've taught at all levels. Right now I am teaching 6th and 8th grade Intensive Reading as well as 6th grade ELA. Lincoln Memorial Middle School is a Title 1 school located in FL with wonderful children. It is really something to go into work each and every day to help these children grow with their learning. The students come from all types of backgrounds. Some have parents who can't help them with homework because they don't speak English or some have parents who have to work two jobs to help make ends meet. All of my students know that they can come to me with any problems and they all know that I will help with anything they need. We are all teachers who teach for the outcome here at Lincoln Memorial Middle School!
