Listening Center Caddie

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity in supporting my first grade classroom. The materials finally arrived and the kids were excited to see such a large package in the classroom. "What's that Mrs. Chaves? Can we open it right now?!" were the questions many of them asked with such anticipation on their faces. The kids were thrilled to learn that we had received a new storage center for our listening center materials.

My students are using this resource during our morning ELA block during Workshop time. One of the centers(the rug area) allows the children to read with a buddy or listen to a book. With our materials neatly organized, the students have an easier time locating books and cleaning up during transition time since there are designated areas for each headphone.

This project has booted my teaching and students' learning because it has cut down on time that I normally have to take untangling headphones and assisting during workshop transition. Students are more independent when using materials and enthusiastic about keeping our classroom materials in good working order. This organizational center was just what we needed!”
