  • Read, Write and Organize!

    Funded Aug 31, 2024

Since we have a beach-themed classroom, our class mascot is a sea turtle named Maho. My second graders absolutely loved receiving their own plush sea turtles to use as reading buddies at home, and I created an adoption application for them to fill out with a certificate for students to name and adopt their turtles. I have already received multiple messages from parents telling me their child really enjoys reading aloud each night to his/her turtle.

The folders are extremely sturdy and should last the entire school-year. As you can see in the pictures, I made special covers to slide down the front to match our classroom theme. We use the detective pens with invisible ink during our Escape Rooms. They love shedding light on papers to discover clues and mystery codes to open locks on boxes.

The will love receiving the life-size Smartphone erasers and stackable ocean pencils to use during writing lessons. Thank you for funding this project so my students are encouraged to read at home, write at school and keep organized. You are appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Webster

  • Money Talks in Math Class

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

My second graders absolutely loved using the new, individual banks to practice learning how to count coins. I designed and created a mini-anchor chart for the inside of the banks for students who needed to learn the coin names and values. This visual also helped my limited-English speakers and lower-level math students. The coins and paper dollar designs appear authentic so students will recognize and be able to count real money.

The containers were a perfect size to organize all of the coins students needed, and they fit perfectly on their desk trays. Students were able to easily carry the banks in their little hands around the room to work in different areas alone or with a buddy.

I look forward to having my students use the individual banks and paper dollars again during our economics' unit when learning about spending, saving and creating a budget. These will be used for many years, and I thank you for supporting public education so my students can learn real life skills!”

  • Get Cozy and Learn

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Our classroom is so much cozier with our beautiful tropical area rug to cover the cold, hard tile floor! My students loved seeing the blue and aqua rug at the front of the class when they entered the room a few weeks ago. They are able to comfortably sit while reading, work on projects or collaborate as a team during our breakout rooms.

Our rug is located where we all meet each day for class morning meetings and whole group instruction, too. They love to sit on it during small group STEM station work and as a flexible seating choice when they can sit somewhere else to work other than their desks. They have raved about how soft and comfortable the rug feels.

I truly cannot thank you enough for generously giving to our class to help create a more kid-friendly, comfortable environment. You are appreciated!”

  • Reading Buddies

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Since we have a beach-themed classroom, our mascot is a sea turtle named Maho. They love our mascot, so I decided to write this project so each student can have their own sea turtle at home. My students absolutely loved receiving the plush sea turtles to use as reading buddies at home, and I created an adoption certificate for students to name and adopt their turtles. I have already received multiple texts and emails from parents telling me their child really enjoys reading aloud each night to their turtles, and they have been amazed how much reading their child has completed each night now! I appreciate you for supporting public education and motivating my precious group of second graders to read at home.”

  • Replenish Our Transformation and Learning Supplies

    Funded May 3, 2022

I appreciate your generous donation to fund our materials for our room transformations. My second grade students are completely engaged in their learning, and I LOVE watching them work together during our Animal Safari Escape Room and Construction Measurement room transformation activities. They are always excited to dress up for these and then take the hats home to use for creative play.

The glow room materials are always a huge hit during our Let's Get Glowing room transformation with black lights. They love the glow glasses, bracelets and neon tape I use to decorate the walls. Room transformations are always their favorite activities in second grade, and I couldn't do them without your donations to purchase the items we need to make learning fun and engaging.

I absolutely loved earning scratch-and-sniff stickers when I was in elementary school, and I enjoy seeing my own students complete quality work so they can earn their own stickers. The Boogie Board replacements are appreciated, and we use them during whole group and small group instruction. They are so much better that using the messy and stinky dry erase boards, and they hold my students' attention longer.

Thank you again for donating to this project and allowing me to have the resources to plan creative and meaningful lessons!”

  • Engaging Students With Room Transformations and Escape Rooms

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

I appreciate your generous donation to fund our materials for our room transformations. My second grade students are always completely engaged in their learning, and I LOVE watching them work together during these activities and escape rooms. They enjoy wearing costume accessories such as the safari hats, animal print bandanas and pirate eye patches to play the characters of the thematic rooms. The various shower curtains, backdrops, flags and table covers make it easy for me to decorate quickly and transform our learning spaces. The glow room materials are a huge hit during our Let's Get Glowing room transformation.

They absolutely love room transformations, and I couldn't do these without your donation to purchase the items we need to bring these powerful lessons to life. Thank you again for donating to our project and allowing me to have the resources to plan creative and meaningful lessons that my students will always remember!”

  • School Supplies to Start the Year

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

My students have absolutely loved the scratch-and-sniff stickers and scented pencils this year! They can earn the stickers when they make a 90% or above on any test or by modeling personal best work. I have many students who love collecting these stickers in books, and I love watching their faces light up as they enjoy seeing what sticker they received on their papers. I still remember that feeling when I was in elementary school and earned these types of scented stickers! I know I worked harder and tried my best so I could collect them.

I love the high quality of of the poly folders and three-prong zipper pouches. In the past, I usually went through three folders per child when I had to purchase the cheaper poly folders. These folders will last all year and withstand the normal wear and tear.

I appreciate you for supporting public education and providing these important school supplies for my second graders!”

  • Get Comfortable and Learn

    Funded Jul 5, 2021

Our classroom is so much more cozier with these area rugs and thick rug pads to cover the cold, hard tile floor! With the addition of these rugs, students are able to comfortably sit while reading or working on projects. They are also able to sit on the floor to work on activities at our coffee table with one of the rugs under it.

One rug is located in our reading hut with our classroom library. It truly adds to our flexible seating environment in a highly beneficial way! Another rug is in front of our Activboard where I teach whole group math and reading lessons. They have raved about how soft and and comfortable the rugs feel.

I truly cannot thank you enough for generously giving to our class!”
