  • Share and Care in 2nd Grade

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Our class would like to say thank you for being supportive of helping us learn and grow. The new supplies you have provided will certainly help us this year as we strive to achieve great things in second grade! We look forward to working hard and doing great things this year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Truelock

  • STEM-ulating Second Graders!

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

I would like to take a minute and tell you thank you for donating new materials to my classroom earlier this year. Since your donation, my students have enjoyed using new science and art materials on a daily basis. These materials have helped them to be more creative and learn to be more confident in exploring their curiosity while learning new things.

They have helped people in our community by making cards for elderly citizens in the nursing home, and sending creative messages to a sick classmate who missed several weeks of school. Thank you for providing the new materials to enhance learning and caring in our classroom this year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Truelock

  • Get It Together

    Funded Sep 5, 2018

I would just like to say how much the items donated to our classroom have helped us this year. Not only have my students benefited from many of the items, I myself have been able to stay more organized and on top of things this year thanks to the organizational items you have supplied.

My students enjoy using the clip boards each day while they work independently. The privacy shields have also been super helpful by helping students to stay on task and focused on assignments. They also enjoy taking turns sitting in the "director's chairs" in the reading corner of our classroom.

Once again, I would like to say a big Thank You to all of the helpful donors who donated to this project!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Truelock

  • Superb Science For Second Grade

    Funded Oct 23, 2017

I want to tell you how much you have improved the way my students learn and understand science as second graders. You have provided me with several new tools to enhance student learning of science concepts that I have taught for the last several years.

With the donations from you, I have purchased many hands on tools to help my students better understand topics like space exploration, the butterfly life cycle, and the process of an egg turning into a chick. As I have taught these topics in depth this year I have noticed that my students are better understanding what I am teaching because they can look, touch, and feel the manipulatives you have provided for our classroom

Once again, I cannot tell you how excited and thankful I am to have been provided with these new materials that have proven to be so helpful in the classroom. It gives me great joy to see the smile on my students' faces when they are learning something new and exciting!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Truelock

These materials will allow me to better teach my students about life science. I teach all of these things each year but desperately need hands on materials for my students to better understand these concepts. By providing my students with new hands-on materials, they will be able to explore the amazing things that science has to offer! Each year we hatch chicks and I have to borrow an incubator from the county extension office. By having our own incubator, we will not have to wait for a turn and will be able to hatch chicks when we are ready each year. Science is a large part of the curriculum that I teach to my students. Each year, I do a unit on the human body and having the skeleton model and other human body materials would greatly enhance student learning.
