I currently teach 5th grade science and US History to 87 scholars in a distinguished Title 1 charter school in south Georgia. Our student body is as diverse as our learning styles and pedagogy. We love hands on activities that bring lessons alive. We do on and off campus field work to build critical thinking skills. A focus on design and project based activities gives our scholars a chance to analyze, evaluate, and protype solutions that are applicable in the real world. The scholars become leaders of their own learning, giving the teacher the role of facilitator in a supportive way.
