  • Connecting to Global Landmarks

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

Thank you so much for contributing to this project, Connecting to Global Landmarks. The students have already jumped right into their research. The second the books showed up, they were researching the Eiffel Tower, Stonehenge, and the Stature of Liberty. Students used their social studies skills to analyze the maps and diagrams that came in the books and created their own artwork to match. Our hallway is full of paintings of each of these landmarks! These books have also inspired students to look up other landmarks and monuments and write their own summaries. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.”

  • Planners and Cubbies for Next Year!

    Funded Aug 26, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to "Planners and Cubbies for Next Year!" We are very excited to use these materials to continue helping students become more organized and independent. The students are very excited to have their own pencil pouches filled with the supplies they need. In our classroom, students need many different colored pencils to complete their works, from grammar to math, and they often waste time going to get communal supplies and sharpening them. These materials are now with them at their location, saving time for lessons and work.

Thank you again for your donation!”

  • Hearty Headphones

    Funded Aug 26, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to our project, "Hearty Headphones." I can't tell you enough how much of a difference it makes to have headphones that will last longer. Each year we spent money on new headphones, only to have them fall apart by winter break. The students have already been using the headphones for testing, watching videos to support lessons, and to listen to audio books. The splitters have allowed five students to watch the same video at the same time. We know these will continue to be a great resource as the year continues.

Thank you again for supporting our classroom!”

  • Social and Emotional Literature Connections

    Funded May 17, 2018

We just began using the Mind Up curriculum in our classroom and it has already been a hit! We do some small group lessons and have been learning about the brain. This week students learned the roles of the hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, and amygdala. The curriculum had a great suggestion for an active game, and we played it during our gym class. Students became the amygdala, and either had a flight, freeze, or "Mind Up" action. The students loved being pieces of information trying to get through to the hippocampus. We are also reading Chasing Vermeer, one of the novels connected to the curriculum, and have been discussing friendships and what it means to be a bystander.

I can't wait to continue using these materials!”

  • Terrific Trays!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to Terrific Trays! These trays make a huge difference in our classroom. They bring uniformity to our shelves which makes them more visually appealing and inviting for the students. Students are able to tell what they need for a particular lesson and gather all the materials quickly. They are much more excited to take out their work and it helps students to both move around the classroom appropriately and organize their table. This also helps our classroom at the end of work periods as students are able to condense their work and leave it out.

Again, thank you so much for donating!”

  • Hands On Geography

    Funded Mar 8, 2018

Words can't describe how excited we are to have these materials in our classroom! The Geography area was really struggling without our puzzle and pin maps. They are essential to teaching children locations around the world. The pin maps in particular great as they let children work with not just countries but capitals and flags. They increase patience and also help with hand eye coordination. The students jumped right in to working with these! We are also excited for the land and water form trays, as they make the concepts so clear.

Thank you again for donating to our project!”

  • Exploring Wisconsin Wildlife

    Funded Sep 1, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to Exploring Wisconsin Wildlife. Our classroom is located in an urban area, so we take advantage of as many opportunities as possible to get outdoors and have natural experiences outdoors. We are lucky to have a large park nearby that gives us a change of scenery and chance to observe the outdoors. We try to take nature walks as much as possible, and the materials in this project help our students to make detailed observations and identify what we see. On our most recent winter nature walk, we were able to hear Chickadees nearby, and upon closer look we startled a Cooper's Hawk that was hunting the Chickadees.

These experiences help the children to stop and look around and observe what is happening in their own backyards. It is my belief that the more they connect with the nature around them, the more connected they will be as life long learners!

Thank you again for giving us this opportunity to share nature with our students.”

  • Literacy Listening Station

    Funded Sep 7, 2017

Thank you so much for donating towards our Literacy Listening Station project. The materials from this project have had a great impact on our classroom. This station gets used by students who are learning to read and listen to a book on text, or who just want to hear an old classic read to them again.

Other students use our listening station to listen to different instruments and types of music. They are able to hold a model of the instrument, read a card that gives information about the history and classification of that instrument, and then listen to a real life example of how it sounds.

We look forward to continuing to add features to this station in our classroom!

    Thanks again.”

  • Books at Our Level!

    Funded Sep 8, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to this project! We greatly appreciate you contributing to the books in our classroom. In our Montessori classroom, students spend a lot of time reading independently both for pleasure and for gaining new information. It can be challenging for students who struggle to read or haven't found their love for reading yet if they do not have books at their level.

The books from this project have engaged children, helped with reading intervention lessons, and given children a level of independence for their research.

Thank you so much for being a part of this process in our classroom!”

  • Creative Creations with Canvas and Clay

    Funded Sep 3, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to this project. It has truly been amazing to see the work that children have done with our clay, and how much of an impact the storage solutions from this project have had on our usability of clay.

In our Montessori classroom, the students are given small group lessons that are meant to inspire meaningful follow up work. Because we now have clay available, students have created some really beautiful work, not only for themselves but for other students to learn from.

One example is that we have a set of miniature instruments with matching cards. The students have these as a lesson, and afterwords they chose to research other instruments and make miniature models of them. We now have added a Bass, Accordion, and Piano to our existing set.

Thank you so much for making this work possible!”
