Document Cameras for Dynamic Lessons!
Funded Oct 9, 2024Thank you so much for providing the document cameras we need to use our Cleartouch boards in our classrooms. We rely on these boards to make sure our students have the best visuals to learn. With the document cameras we are able to display student work so the kids can learn from each other. We are also able to then save the student work and show it during another lesson.
We teach many English language learners with variety of home languages, so having the technology we need to support all of our students is so important.”

Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you for your generosity and support for my classroom this year! Your donation helped me organize my student library and my new curriculum paperwork, get stocked on tissues and even get some freeze pops!
My classroom library is a key part to building a love of literacy and letting my students choose just right books to help them practice their fluency while picking books they want to read. My old containers were falling apart and I was able to get new containers that should last for years. Each week, students choose new books for their "bag of books" and it's one of their favorite times of the week.
It's so wonderful to be prepared and organized. The tissues have been a blessing with so many colds and allergies. The new metal paper organizer has helped me organize my new reading curriculum materials.
An additional item was continually out of stock, so I was able to use the funds to purchase some freeze pops. My building does not have air conditioning, so each day my classroom is over 80 degrees, I pass out freeze pops. Your generosity helped us make it through the heat we faced during the first 6 weeks of school!
I greatly appreciate your support for my classroom!”

Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you so much for your incredible generosity! First grade is such an amazing time for literacy in a child's life. Children can come recognizing only a few letters at the beginning of the year and leave reading chapter books!
I read the Ready Freddy chapter book series to my students and am able to teach all kinds of comprehension strategies throughout the year using the characters and plots that they love. The students fall in love with the books. Because of your kindness, I'll be able to wrap up a copy of Ready Freddy: Ready, Set, Snow and let each child open a gift, enjoy reading it, and let them take the gift of literacy home with them. This may be the very first chapter book some of my students own.
It will be a celebration of literacy and a learning memory that will last. I have been able to do this in past years, and even as 5th graders, students will talk about their love of reading and many of them still have their books from years past.”

Mrs. Ohler

Funded Apr 17, 2024Thank you so much for your generosity and providing my students with the opportunity to grow plants.
The students have grown their own vegetables to take home and plant. Now we have "Tickle Me" plants growing on our window sill and soon they'll be able to touch the leaves and watch them close. The loved reading their Magic School Bus books about plants. Just today, one student wrote in her journal about growing the plants and how that was her favorite part of first grade.
Your kindness helped me make learning come alive for my kids and I appreciate it so much.”

Funded Jan 24, 2024My children are thrilled to be reading the "Ready Freddy" books. I gave them the books on Valentine's day and they cheered when they opened them.
I have students who are still taking them home and bringing them back every day so they can keep reading them.
These are the first chapter books my children have had in their hands. Between the reading instruction I give them and their familiarity they have with the characters (because I read the series to the class all year) they are successfully reading on their own.
It's great to see their joy and hear their reading fluency improve. I appreciate your generosity and kindness toward my students!”

Stem Fun for First: Puzzles and Geometric Creativity
Funded Aug 2, 2023It has been so exciting to let the children use the puzzles and Magnatiles that you funded for my classroom. The students are engaged in creative play, developing their command of English, and building their math vocabulary as they play with the Magnatiles. They are learning to work cooperatively and develop their spatial reasoning as they work on the puzzles together. They are also building their organization skills and responsibility as they know they have to keep the materials organized and clean them up so they have all the pieces and can continue to use them.
Thank you so much for your generosity so that my children can learn through hands on, engaging activities!”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you again for your incredible generosity to my students and me. The new seat sacks make such a difference in my classroom. I'm able to group students at tables for better learning collaboration and they can keep their materials organized. The pencil boxes have been so helpful to keep the writing materials organized.
The tissues have definitely had an instant impact on my classroom. Some of the children have allergies and sneeze constantly throughout the day. Staff members who have needed a tissue have commented that it's so nice that the kids have soft tissues to use during allergy and cold season.
I appreciate your support and kindness. It has helped me created a good classroom culture.”

Funded May 10, 2023Thanks so much for supporting my students and my teaching! My district is adopting new curriculum and we're learning more about the Science of Reading, so your donation of the gift cards will be such a huge help as I'll be needing some new resources and activities for my students. This will help me provide new classroom displays and visuals my students will need with the new stories we will be using to learn. I'll also be targeting very specific reading skills students need and now I'll be able to get new learning activities and reading passages that my students need to master reading skills and be fluent readers and life long learners. Your support and investment in my students is greatly appreciated!”

Funded May 10, 2023Thanks so much for helping my kids have some extra fun at the end of the year! It's been well over 80 degrees most afternoons in my room and each afternoon we've been having freeze pops to cool down.
Also, thanks for the book stapler and magnets that have been helping me get my room ready for next year. I've been repairing books and getting things ready to hang up in the fall.
The bubbles and bubble gum made for an awesome first grade fun day. We had to find a YouTube video because so many kiddos are still learning how to blow a bubble with gum. They had a blast!
I so appreciate your support, generosity, and kindness!”

Funded Apr 24, 2023It's amazing to be a first grade teacher because there is so much academic and developmental growth happening. But turning kindergarten students into 2nd grade students is not an easy task. Having books that kids can read independently or with another student can be challenging when they are developing their reading skills at the beginning of the year. The books you donated are EXACTLY what my kiddos need to become successful, fluent readers.
Each week, my students pick 5 books from my classroom library for their "bag of books" and every morning they read with their table partners. They absolutely love this. Your donation provided them with so many new choices to pick from, including beautiful non- fiction books that they love and match what we're learning in science.
Thanks again for your support and generosity. It's such a boost to have your support and it makes a huge impact for my student.”

Mrs. Ohler
